well........."what had happen was"..........my least favorite phrase.....I was ready......but a......but a......the kart was not........I got it off the trailer, without a glitch.......then it would not refire.....no fire in da hole.......so I road biotch the whole day........when every one had enough and we got back to the spot......it ran long enough to get it back on the trailer .... #-o ...needless to say I was/am an unhappy camper.......so the not so long ride home I got to thinking, and that is a scary thought all in itself, so I hook up an new 8 gauge ground wire to the frame, and took it it for a few laps around the house........6 laps or so into it it started to break up........so I gave a reach around to feel for the coil, as I wanted to check how hot it was .......that would be the point I screamed like a girl..  .........I jamed the brake on and look back, to see if there was any flesh stuck to the exhaust pipe....... :-k :-k .......no..... it was the coil I grabbed........so......I park it in the shop and came inside to lick my wounds..... ....tomorrow is another day.......

hot coil? is your sync working? what controls voltage to the coil? does your coil have a ground?

Sorry about the inaugural run was hampered... Maybe we can get it going for another run soon??? One I can attend maybe??? lol

Sorry I missed the fun... I actually had a pretty crappy night at work... got stuck towing a trashed Monte Carlo (FWD), entire right front engine cradle sheared and peeled through the control arm, dragging the bottom end of the motor on the ground and wedging the front tire into the rocker... all this in the sick @$$ lightning storm with dime sized hail!!!! What a night...

Anyway... Im off all week, gimme a call Timmy! We can chat if you are up!

John

Sorry to hear of your problem Professor Tim.

Is there a chance that you've still got a floating ground? You're engine is a little differnt than others. If there's a ground wire on the coil, I'd take that ground directly to the same point that you ran new ground.

I've seen it sometimes that the frame segments get isolated from each other, causing two (or more) different grounds. It was causing the battery to drain.

You've done one heck of a job with that buggy.

Lets hope that does it for ya you Diesel Fuel Gangsta! I was dying to have another big buggy tearin up the sandwash with me. Another trip when you are running properly? I'm thinking end of August... My vaca starts Aug 13th-18th...after that it is time to ride.
