Went down to Camp Verde this past wekend with the buggy and came back a broken 800cc! AGAIN

3 issues all in one trip. First one is I broke the A arm on the passanger side. The A arm is still connected but the tire site at like angle. Anyone know where to get new ones? I am in Phx AZ.

Also, I think I killed the clutch or its about to go. First gear is really hard to get into and when I do, I dont get much power. 3rd gear seems to work great and so does reverse. I am guessing the tranny?? Anyone ever have this happen?? Any way to tell?

Also, my radiator is leaking again! This is the 3rd one I have installed. this one is all aluminum, with duel fans designed for a 300ZX Twin Turbo!!! I must be doing something work here.....

Anyhow, I am at the point I think I might just sell it. Everytime I go out its something new breaking.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

I feel your pain. I have 200 miles on my BMS 800cc buggy and I spend more time fixing it then actually riding it. There is always something. Currently, all the fluid ran out of the hydrolic clutch. The seal (O-ring is bad) on the foot pedal and will not gain pressure to disengage transmission. Not to mention the thing never ran well. I think the ECU is junk and there are no options to up grade. The Chinese need to redesign them or stop making them for us foolish Americans to buy.

I am thinking it would be cool to put a RX-7 or RX-8 rotorary motor in it. They're light wieght, rev high, but I'm not sure the frame will take the HP plus there would be a lot of modifications. Just a thought in the back of my head not sure if its feasible.

Ya, to be honest, I have given up on it! I am thinking about selling it. I enjoy riding it over the rhine or even the rzr! Anyone ever put a different motor all gotether in this? I dont mind spending 2-3K on it but from what I see, all options are falling short at this point.

Joyner 800's cannot be that much different than the BMS. If any of you can put one side to side, maybe you can see what Joyner did differently and is lacking in the BMS?

I would also be interested in what other motors and tranmissions would fit my BMS.

The current Joyner 800's are also EFI with a ECU (only the older 800's were carbureted) and should be the same engine as your BMS. Joyner is made in China with a little more oversight by the US side of business (hopefully resulting in better quality). Although frame and suspension parts will be different, most of the engine and transmission parts from Joyner should fit your buggy.

Hmm,

Mine is a 800 EFI 2+2. Anyone know the difference between the Joyners vs the BMS 800's vs the Roketa 800 EFI?

Anyone have any first hand info on this?

Pull the manuals off teamjoynerusa.com for the SandViper 800 and Commando 800. They will have wiring diagrams and parts breakdown. The SandViper should be really close and the Commando turns the engine 90 degrees on horizontal plane so each side of the output shaft can drive front or rear differentials.

Hi SOLO...

do you have the 800 BMS? Where did you get it? (just curious)

There is a BMS website that has a pretty good selection of parts. Let me know if you are going to tyr fixing.

I have to work on my buggy often too, but I beat it up BAD!
Half of what goes wrong is my fault seems like.

As for the shifting issue, do you jump it? If you do check the brace that runs under the shift linkage (trans end). When you jump these and they bottom out, this brace gets bent up into the linkage and makes it hard to shift. This happened to mine and my friends buggy. Not that hard to fix, I know 2 guys that can do it for you.

Also, I've been told the only real differance between the BMS and Joyner 800s is that the Joyner is a DOHC, which is why they have more power.
