15g Sliders (or 17g for slightly less low end) and a white main spring will get you a bunch more low end and help with the cornering responsiveness you're looking for.

The main springs often have an RPM rating associated with them, but that is completely misleading, as they don't really have anything to do with the RPMs. The clutch *arm* springs do have a relationship to the RPMs.

The main springs should be rated in units of tension or the amount of force they apply. We don't have accurate numbers on these, but through testing have determined that the blue is the aftermarket springs from lightest to strongest are: blue, white, then red - with the white are red being fairly close in tension and the blue one being a fair amount lower than them.

I do have a GK-06 buggy and have installed the Hammerhead Exhaust, UNI air intake, (rejetted the carburetor to accommodate those two mods), Dr Pulley clutch and variator, 17g slider weights, performance coil, CDI, and Iridium spark plug - also went to 25" rear tires.

The buggy went from being a 30mph dog to doing about 46mph and will climb almost anything we point it at that has reasonably stable ground (sandy terrain and mud are a bit harder to scale steep hills in - but that's the same for any vehicle!)

Mike I have read on this site that the FNR on the gk06 is a single wheel drive is this true and if so have you seen anyone lock the FNR up so it is dual drive .I was just wondering if it would even be worth the trouble and how to do it .The mods you have done to your buggy are the ones I want to do when the cash comes around.Do you know much about the shorty clutch that kidnme has been testing much cheaper price then the dr pully

From everything I've seen the shorty is a good clutch, but it's still being tested for the optimum combination of springs and slider weights. The clutch itself is a good sized step up from the stock one in terms of quality, but I don't think it's at the top of the line like the Dr Pulley one is.

It's really hard to beat the pillow mechanism on the Dr Pulley clutch that locks the clutch arms to the bell. It's an incredibly solid engagement that you can really feel when under load and/or climbing.

Dr Pulley has had some issues in the past with their clutches, but this was mainly to the fact that they were being designed for a much lower impact (and lower weight!) vehicle - a scooter.

The current crop of clutches I have in stock are all tuned specifically for the buggies and 6 or 8 sets of springs (depending on the clutch). We've sold a number of these new buggy version of these clutches and the feedback has been very good. The key is getting the right springs on the clutch arms and pillows. People seem to be pretty happy with the stiffer springs that come with it, and right now we're giving away spring install/removal tools with every Dr Pulley clutch.

In terms of locking up the differential, contact "Digger" here on the site. I believe he welded his up. He'd have the info you're looking for.
