RRN, Thanks for the piccies, I was wondering how everyone got around the strap mount and shock width...BFH i like that...more like hammer of THOR.....I will post pics of the my machine before and after ......Gonna put it all together after getting a few things done to it....just to let you know Scott with the gear swap is on vacation this week so the message machine is on but if you e-mail him he will respond sooner...I don't know his e-mail off the top of my head.......Alex

Thank you for the info on transmission. I have it out of the buggy and am boxing it up for Scott to change the gears out for me. I have never split a transmission before so I thought it best to send it to Scott and let him do the work. I found that a nail bar worked vary good at getting the axles off the out put shaft just the slightest pressure got the job done and no damage to axle or transmission.

I’d recommend that you get a bigger radiator, and check the electrical leading to the fan, and fan switch. Overheating could be a problem, bigger radiator will fix that. Get a vapor gauge set from trailtech http://trailtech.net/utv_vapor_kits.html. I love My buggy. I actually went back to the standard trany. I ride around in 2nd gear for maximum power when I need it. It can climb anything in 2nd gear. I only use 3rd on slight inclines, and flats where i'm trying to go over 45mph, and 4th to go about 60mph.

Robert...let me know how that trans works out for you....haven't pulled my gears yet....trying to acquire a low ratio trans for a decent price....


kbtoys....i've got my fan wired straight to the ignition to come on and stay on while the buggy is running....thanks for the tips ......and you have a pm regarding your low ratio trans ....thanks Alex

I have a bypass switch on mine, but it will still let the temp get up to 240 if your riding hard.

Just got the word from Scott @ Unleashed Motor Sports he has my transmission ready to ship back to me. We ended up going with a locked diff. I don’t drive on pavement much so this should work well for me. I will tell you how it works when I get it back in the buggy

Kbtoys......I think I'm gonna take your advice and wire in a switch to turn the fan on and off at will.

Use heavy gauge wire, or you will have problems on long trips. I completely melted my wires to my switch the first time. But that temp gauge is the most useful piece of equipment money can buy for these vehicles. Even with the fan switch on, I have to pull over and cool it off after a few miles.

Well took the tranny down and split the cases. Was hesitant at first but it only took a couple of hours and now my gears are their way to Scott from Unleashed Motorsports for the lower gears.....hope this helps this ailing for speed buggy.
