I am using 5w X 12h front and 8w X 12h rear rims. It has a 4/115 bolt pattern. Also I have 1 1/2 inch spacers in the rear.

Didn't you use to run your rear rims flipped to get better offset without the spacer?

pghruby you are correct that is an old pic I think in my personal album there is a newer pic of the reversed rim set up. If you run these tires on a normal rim say a 7 x 12(very common size) you will need a 2 or more inch spacer

Jojano,
I am looking for some help/suggestions.

1. Do you know the offset of the rims you run with those paddles?
2. Where did you purchase them?

3. I had my buggy out for the first time 800cc 4 Seater. I am worried there is no way this is going to leave the sand highway in Glamis. How do these perform out there? Any suggestions modifications etc?

4. Where does the turbo on your buggy kick in

5. Do you have the stock tranmission? As mine 4th gear seems useless?

Thanks for all the help. I am going to Glamis in 2 weeks and want to have a good time

Ccos.

I ran my 650 at Glamis for the first time last season. It does weight over 1000lbs and was not running right (bad coil). I camp out at the washes and my buggy got around nice on the small dunes and im sure would have ran through sand highway if it didnt start crapping out (fixed problem since then).

If you dont get the paddles, run the tires on very low PSI, less than the 5lbs recommended. I would run them almost flat but not enough to lose the bead. Keep the throttle pinned when you start rolling and always stop on a down hill with these tanks. Start with the hard sand then test the buggy in softer stuff and mix in small dunes till you get the feel. Then graduate to bigger stuff when you know what it can do. Dont expect too much out of it and you wont be dissappointed. If you think you can run in to the medium stuff like the Rhino/RZR's you cant. But if your just gonna cruise around camp/sand highway/glamis store and small dunes you'll have alot of fun!

Keep us informed and good luck!

Looks like going to go to Glamis for the first trip with NO Paddles and figure out what I want to do. I have ITP's on my quad, the Doonz do look cool and Douglas is a good company.

Taking the buggy for its first trip this weekend to Ocotillo Wells

darn you! Rub it in why don’t you. I had to move back to Suckttle (i.e. Seattle) last February, after having spent two glorious years living across the street from the beach in Carlsbad. Wife made me move back, and I haven’t forgiven her since. :-)

My son and I would make day trips to Ocotillo Wells. It was only 2 hours away from our house. Made for a nice little Saturday get away.

I absolutely loved living in San Diego, however I have to be honest with you; the people down there suck! I have never met more superficial, self-absorbed, entitled people in my entire life. But hey, who needs people when you have family and beautiful weather every day. Of course I write this as I look out at the gray clouds of yet another 40 something degree, rainy day in Seattle. Envious, maybe even jealous? Heck ya I am!

Ccos,

I do most of my shopping at Chaparral Motorsports in San Bernardino. They are right off the 10fwy. Im not sure if they carry the Doonz new sand tires made for UTV's, but I know they carry the ITP Sandstars. If I were to get tires, I'd go with Doonz but i believe Pghruby runs ITP and he likes them.
