Looks good Ghost. You definitely have paid attention to detail. In case you didnt know your engine was originally used in trucks during the 80s. Thats why its built like a tank and inherently designed as a torque motor not a high reving, high hp motor. Stock that is. Yours should have "hopefully" the best of both worlds. Tons of torque and an abundance of hp. These engines are built very strong stock which I think is why they took well to the turbo. Also as you stated in a previous post the head is restrictive which will do better under boost due to the forced induction. Since you have removed much of the restriction in the head through porting and with the high comp pistons hopefully you will see similar gains with your na engine. I cant wait to hear how it runs.

On a side note I would leave the counter balancers alone. There is a lot of rotating mass in your engine and with both pistons in the same plane of rotation I think removing counter balancers would be either engine suicide or it would rattle your teeth out!

I havent made any posts yet of my buggy but I have done a few things to it. I will update soon. Give me a call. You have a PM.

John

At one point you found a head with bigger valves that fit this engine. Was that the one you ported or was it a stock Joyner head? I think you were running your buggy during this part of the project, so I figure you must have purchased an additional head and did all the work to the new one...

Yes thats correct i found another head in great shape for 60.00. The valve size is the same. The head i bought is 2006,the buggy is a 2007,both heads are exactly the sam except the 2007 has an extra water port on the left side,it was capped off at the factory. If you look under 2g24 vulcan engine wikipedia, they say their was a four valve head and a five valve turbo head. I wonder if any of those are still around china or indonisa somewhere. With a four valve head it tells me they made this engine rev higher must of had a different cam too.

Well I found a head on Ebay & I'm going to either get some gutts & give it a try or I have a guy that will port, polish & do the valves for $225 . He does outstanding work, it's just a matter of having the time for me to do it.

Well I was really thinking about it, but if my parts don't come from Joyner ( rear hubs) I'm not going anywhere!!
