I fixed the rear main seal on Sunday. I found out what that loud chatter was. It was the starter not pulling back far enough and the teeth were rubbing on the flywheel. New starter fixed the problem.

Got the tranny back in yesterday. Now I have a rear main seal leak... Also a loud rattle/chatter coming from underneath. This thing is killing me.

I got it running!!!!! I started it again on Thursday and had my timing light ready to time it, it started leaking.... :evil: Clutch fluid was leaking from the slave cylinder. Crap, and that is inside the bell housing and it was brand new too. So I spent all day Thursday taking the tranny back out. I...
