it's a dam shame that these things happen but IMO there is one thing lacking these days, simple common sense. he had no business going that fast on a back road to begin with.

getting the HH to shift into low and reverse has always been w little difficult and oddly normal for these buggys. there is a fine line when adjusting the shift rods so that it will easily shift into all gears. sometimes you get an easy low and no reverse, or the other way around. the belt itself wi...

Yeah its getting better just by eyeballing it but it still has a little pull so I'm gonna try to do that with a 2x4 and see if it helps. Thank you everyone for the help. I'll post again when I get it dialed in. just remember to hold that 2x4 up and look down the side to make sure it's not curved or...

inside the variator are the sliders/rollers. they work on cyntrifical force so as you throttle up they should be expanding out to tighten up the belt and drive it down into the clutch pulley as the rpm's increase. if you are throttling up and the variator is not "squeezing" the belt then s...

either the belt is wrong or the sliders/rollers are sticking in the variator.
take the side cover off. put the rear of the buggy on jack stands and start it.......SLOWLY give it throttle and watch what the CVT system is doing.

that's odd because most vibrating comes from giving it a slight throttle and not when it's at an idle.

yes , i tried it with the engine off. the engine oil is good. could not find where you can check the gear oil level. My other question regarding this is ; could a vacuum line cause this problem if there was a leak or line came out? A vacuum line will not cause this problem. you need to find out whe...

when you say "vibrations" it depends on how bad they are to say they are normal. my HH developed a bad vibration and it turned out to be loose or incorrectly torqued engine mount bolts. these buggys will have some slight vibrating but if it shakes your teeth then no, that's not normal. the...

that.......or check the cable adjustment. you say it has been difficult to put in gear. if you were forcing it into gear you may have damaged internal parts.

you can either "eyeball" the tires to get them straight, use a tape measure to see what the center-to-center measurement is on the rear of the tire compared to the front of the tire or lay a straight edge along side the buggy using the rear tires as a guide and measure out to the front/cen...

i have had great luck with the stock belt. the OEM belt on my HH is almost 3 yrs. old and still looks great.
i have heard that the kevlar are not forgiving and if something is going to give, you DEFINITELY want it to be the belt and not high dollar trans. parts.

Knock on your neighbors' doors and borrow some bathroom scales. Prop a tire on each scale and add them up. You are probably close, but I'd bet the actual weight is a little bit more, maybe 560 . i used our bathroom scale to do it. (spring style). i placed it under each wheel to get the totals. i gu...

how accurate is placing a scale under each wheel and adding the four results to get a total weight? i haven't had a chance to get to the scales yet and did this because i was curious but the weight almost seems too low......540 lbs? i know my cage is chromaloy (most of it) and the panels are aluminu...

sounds like you are either missing a wire at the ignition switch or like pud said, there is another button or switch somewhere. "IF" there were a key, when the key is turned to just the ON position, you should have lights, horn, etc. like a car. then turned more to start. if you can turn t...

after reading your posts, two suggestions come to mind. first, take the bowl off that carb and make sure the jets are clean, BEFORE reinstalling the carb get a fuel filter on it. if everything is clean, try it. if that doesn't work then take that choke off and test it. when it's cold measure how far...

your best bet is to surf the net for a sprocket vendor that can make you a #530, 40-42 tooth sprocket. finding OEM parts for the joyner may be a challenge these days. here is a diagram of the joyner 250 rear sprocket from another member to help with dimensions. as far as i know the bore is the same ...

i tried three different sealers on my HH tank when it cracked and NONE of them were worth poo. clean it out good and weld it or take it to a shop and have them weld it up, that's what i did.
