Ok, so it was more of a jetting issue than a filter placement issue. My plan is to upgrade to the BBK, ported and polished head and rock crawler cam. But, that is a ways away. I have an A/F meter but it isn't currently installed. I might put that on and try the 32mm carb again. I also had pretty go...

That makes sense, since the CN250 pulley is smaller, right?

Here's a pic of mine. Should give you an idea of how large the clutch/variator are on the CFMoto.

Its perfectly drivable as is i just feel like its upshifting way to soon. and in low gear it feels as if it upshifts and bogs for a few seconds and then picks up again and screams. Mine, too. I tried changing the engagement on the clutch, so that it hooked up at a higher RPM, but that made it worse...

Ok. Never tried it. What belt are you running? Do you have the CFMoto variator? I'm running 18g sliders in my setup. I also have 24" rear tires, and running the 12t drive sprocket. Have a black torque spring, and Dr Pulley clutch. Mine won't spin the tires, and I'm still trying to get the clutc...

You're running a clutch for a CN250 in a Hammerhead 250 SS? That should be a CFMoto engine/trans and I believe it takes a different clutch. The variators are different for sure between the CN250s and the CFMotos.

If you have room, sure. It might be getting tight in your engine bay, though. If you followed my build, you saw where I put the top motor mount. The rest of that upper cage really doesn't have to be there otherwise. I just wish I hadn't cut off the right side bearing carrier area. The prior owner on...

Papa Rich is probably the expert here on cradle making. In my Joyner/Polaris build (mostly done by the prior owner), the Polaris cradle is basically set on top of the Joyner cradle and then welded together. I cut quite a bit of the Polaris cradle off and only used the essentials. I actually took too...

Looks good, I really like those bear claws ! Me, too! They're a good all around kinda tire, IMO. I run them on my buggy and quad. My bro-in-law has the same quad and he runs Mud Lites. The ML's definitely are better in mud than the Bear Claws. He can get thru alot more stuff than I can. I think the...

No, but I can post some this weekend.

They're exactly like these. The 150 and 250 fit the same size. They're a little dirty right now, but practically new.

That's a bit of a design flaw. :D

It's more of a brush guard than a roll cage, so I wouldn't be too worried about drilling a couple holes in it.

Is it not getting fuel? Could be the petcock. I think you can test it by taking the fuel line off to the carb, and leave the vacuum line on. It works off vacuum from the motor. Then crank the motor. If you aren't getting a steady stream of fuel, then the petcock isn't working right.

I was also trying to get more interest in the forum that has seemed pretty dead the last couple of years. I can certainly appreciate that. Lot of knowledgeable folks on here have moved on to other interests. Shame. Would like to see more traffic here as well. I'm pretty limited in what I know about...

It's probably safer to start with a bigger jet, then go down as you tune it. But, if you're using a meter, it shouldn't take you long to dial in. Papa Rich has one and did that.

A 130 to 135 main jet should be a good starting point.

Regarding the wiring, just have to get the temp sensor wire separated, and the other two go to the electric choke. To test it, apply 12volts to it and make sure the plunger extends after about 5 minutes.

Any stock coil should do. Another thing to keep in mind, the ignition switches on these things are known to fail as well.

That's a nice pipe. One of the best mods for these, IMO. Did you change up your jetting?

Looks like you have a 39mm filter on there. Get the same size UNI. But you'll need to buy the oil for it as well. If you are having other problems, I guess I'd sort those out first before buying a new filter. I would adjust the valves before I did anything. There's vids out there on how to do it. He...

Sounds like it. It shouldn't have to be dark outside to see your spark.

The original complaint is that it will not turn the engine over fast enough to start it or even try to start it. It turns it over slow and/or in small spurts. It turns over fast without the spark plug in and I can turn it over by hand with the variator without the spark plug. Interesting. So you ca...
