Ken is right that it's a great mod. I know that he has been saying that for a long time now, but I've been busy with other stuff and just got around to trying it the other day. With a .175" thick shim, my kart accelerates much better and pulls my trailer and climbs hills easier. I think .250" would be just about right for my kart.

It shouldn't change your top speed if your cvt is working correctly.It should only help you get there in less than perfect terrain better though.
It increased my top speed a little,I feel it was because of the gumbo 26 inch tires when my buggy came with 18s originally.I feel I was starting to get some slippage because my gear ratio and the rotational weight of the tires was a drastically changed.
