You did very well, that is a very nice looking rig. I looked a long time for mine and still didn't get as good a deal as you did.

Cool, my sister lived in Bay View. I live on the north side of town, not really any place to ride around here so buggy doesn't get used much other than a couple rides a year.

Thanks Eric, I appreciate the kind words. I moved the RV out so I could get to my buggies and my ATV to take a little ride this weekend and when I got home I found a Yellow piece of paper under the windshield (I left the RV out on the road) asking would I consider selling it.

I chuckled a litte thinking I just got it and besides I might not find a good deal such as this now.

It Saturday night I got three kids and nothing fun going on so o though 0 would follow up on this thread. I've had the MH out 2 times since I got it a couple of months ago.

Our first trip was up toFlagstaff for a soccer tourney was in. We stayed at a KOA and everything went well. I changed the front brake pads the day before and it was def needed.

Last weekend we went up to Happy Jack AZ which is north of Phoenix by 130 miles or so. Once again an easy trip but the hill pulling was more pronounced. Its about 7000 ft elevation with highs in the 80s while in Phoenix it was 114. It felt great. I did not tow any toys but I will next time.

We were suppose to go this weekend but when I took it in for am oil change and alignment I got bad news. It needs rear calipers and rotor on the left side plus the drive shaft needs to be rebuilt. I felt a vibration while driving but thought it was an alignment problem.

$1500 bill errrr I always thought it was gonna need work and was planning on 2k for that an MH with 80k was destine to need work.

All said I'm still pleased with my find and I am sure we will have some fun in it. My wife wants me to upgrade the loo with a new toilet and sink but that is gonna have to wait a little while.

so whats wrong with the loo? looks std RV to me... is it broken? leaky?

and yeah the 2 twin beds is a layout we got to see alot of....the queeen is much better ofcourse for couples... guess they figure the couple will sleep on the dining table bed / couch bed or over cab?

hey have you figured out the MPG on that bad boy yet? our last trip I drove our 27ft ford 460 carburated 1020 miles, we averaged 9.7 mpg I was really surprised, that's towing one buggy and 10ft trailer, 4 people.... previously I est 7.4mpg on a 400 mile round trip

my neighbor was like...."uhg thats horrible, I get 16 in my motorhome" (diesel pusher over a $100k new We had a CHERRY 1972 international pickup with 55,000 orig miles.....(actually we had 3 IH pickups at one time lol...dont ask!) we took it to colorado for a trip from vegas, 7 to 8mpg! 392ci v8 if I remember right rear end gearing was like for pulling down houses...posi etc....no pics on this computer of it sorry!

Its crazy I never got emails saying you posted here but I got the MH back from the repair shop. The drive shaft was bent and needed a pillow bearing. The shop sent it out and got it repaired. The fear was the yoke was jerked up but not. So I dodged a bullet. I needed new rear brakes but since they had it on the lift they took care of it including a new passenger side caliper.

These guys at Sam's ASE Auto are really honest to a fault (I never feel hustled when I go there) and really took care of me. Less than $1000 later (still yikes) it seems to running really well.

As far as the loo it had a leak at the fill valve behind it. $30 bucks good as new. However the wife wants a new toilet at $175 so as most of you know happy wife happy life.

No chance my wife and I are going to fit over the cab in the bunk and the sofa is not comfortable at all so twin beds for us.

On our trip up to Flagstaff I got 8 mpg not towing anything. On the way back I got about 10. Our trip to Payson/Happy Valley (7000k ft plus) I got a solid 9 each way. Once again not towing anything. I was really hoping for better but???? I am hopeful that with a new rear caliper (it was frozen up) and straightened drive shaft I will get better mileage.

I am definitely going to the cinders so we will meet then. I will be bringing two buggies and an ATV. The wife may or may not come...her idea of camping is full hook ups.

The MH is a Jamboree Sports C, 1997 Ford E450 with the Triton V10. Its got 80k miles on it and runs great. I have a few more things that I am going to be doing to it. New shocks all around, something I can do with no problems, new stereo with iPod hook up and possibly Sirius. New door speakers and coach speakers and maybe a sub just to add depth to the sound. What most dont know is with a small sub you do not need the stereo up as loud, it really fills in well (goofy I now but on long trips a good stereo makes all the difference)

With that said, I have work to do on some buggies. I am going to create a new post about them.

hey that mileage isnt bad considering its a v10 + the other issues that you straightened out... towing shouldnt effect you too much I figure....mebvbe up hills

we added a mp3 playing stereo to our old Griswald mobile...
(can you believe no one replaced the GARBAGE stock radio it was an AM/FM pile! had the old knobs and was from 1983!~ prob could get a few bucks for it on ebay for someone wanting a "stock" stereo for thier 80s muscle car lol) the mp3 part is the best...load it with tunes on a SD card and jam out.... we hook up a cheapie 2 screen portable DVD player, http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sylvania-7-Dual-Screen-Portable-DVD-Player-Black/21647699 $55
attach a 1/4" micro stereo cord to the radio from the player and the wife and kids watch movies while we drive (12v 8" screens) that part keeps the kids REAL quiet and busy!

I hafta yank my back dualies and check my braking in back...darn thing is like mostly frt brakes only, parking brake isnt working worth a darn either....a bit scary on those 10-15% grades while towing 2500k lbs!!!!!! on one grade we had it in lowest low, 15mph max, plustapping brakes ALOT to keep her speed down...she wanted to rip down that mountain rd (virginia city nv 15% grade super steep and winding)
when we pulled off this dirt road from some "freebie" camping, apparently a huge 10" long by 5" wide rock got jammed between the dualie wheels in back....got on pavement and it was like we had some big THUMP THUMP and it wiggled the rv up and down a bit in back as well....pulled off right away and used a 2x4 and hammer to pop it out....lucky didnt lose those 2 tires to sidewall tears!

How funny but I bought that same DVD player for $45 on sale at the Wal Mart in Henderson. That is the only "TV" we are allowing in the RV.

I would say you were very fortunate that you did not blow out any tires. That's one of my fears with this Rig I am gonna buy Good Sam's road protection plan. It's on $80 a year and covers all of your vehicles.If you blow out a tire they can bring one out or provide uunlimited amount of towing. Its a good deal.

Besides the rattles while driving it really rides nice and I did not spend $20+k.

You can extend the initial ERS (Emergency Road Service) rate for up four years before the the full rate of $110 kicks in. We always take advantage of this service and twice in past eight years it has paid for itself.

Rocks stuck in dual setups has always been an issue. once on hard top, do an inspection for your rears before getting up to speed and you should be fine. Be aware thast mud and snow will also pack between the duals to create slicks, so watch for compaction.

UHG....REALLY? so that apparently is NOT uncommon to happen...(dualie rock pickup) mud etc... When I was in the Army we learned that you could use a big fat rope, attach it to inside of dualies to rim, and use it like a winch...

and yea on the DVD player we got ours $49 over christmas sale, bought 2 sets, gave one as gift...

Do they have any requirements or conditions before you can extend the initial ERS?

They'll send you the extension upon the initial subscription.
