I noticed you just put the eastside kit on. I assume you rejetted. If you climb hills or do a lot of donuts when you ride, this behavior is indicidive of too large of jet. I know, it happened to me several times.

There is a trade off. On the flats, I can use a 135 at 1800-2500 ft but I ended up with a 127.5 because it did as you say after climbing hills. I had to sacrifice a little flat land performance so that the buggy could climb mountains.

You could aslo have a problem with your intake manifold. Tighten it and look for cracks.

I know while ago we suggested to you to watch your choke plate. If you think it is sticking, remove the air filter (clean the engine well first to remove dust that might get into the engine) When the engine is off you should notice the plate is blocking the carb barrel. When the engine warms up it should slowly open and stay all the way open. Watch it and see what it does.

It sounds like your idle mixture screw might be off. Hard starting and idle not holding well can mean the idle mixture is off as well.

When the kart gets warm i cant see the plate you speak of. The float with the needle in it stays down or gos up and down. When i had my carb off the plat seemed to move with the throttle is it suppose to do that?Any help would be great.

I had a customer bring in a Twister kart that's doing the same thing. It's stock and not modded in anyway. It will start when cold, but you can't press the gas pedal at all or it dies. After a few minutes of idling, it just dies. Has plenty of gas and the gas filter is full. I pulled the air cleaner off so that I can see thru the back of the carburetor. The slide with the needle is all the way down. I don't see any movement in this slide at all.
I can lift the slide with a screwdriver and see the throttle plate behind it.
Even if I hold the slide up a little and start it, it still just idles and then dies.
I checked all hoses and gas line for obstructions. So I'm thinking the electric choke may be bad. How does on test these electric chokes? Any other ideas?

Yes, sounds like the choke since it starts when cold and won't accept gas when hot. (when hot the choke automatically goes off, if it doesn't it becomes too rich and won't run correctly)

easy to check, it is outlined in the yerf manual.

I used the Yerf manual to test the choke. The test passes. However with it installed on the kart, it does not work. I chased the wires and one end goes into the rectifier and the other wire goes to a resister. Apparently the resister is bad or not getting a good connection, cause the electric choke is not getting any power.

I would clean the carb next. The factory puts gas in them to test drive them. If they don't clean them out well enough, the old gas can kinda gels up and can cause problems that a good cleaning would solve. If this doesn't work, try another carb and see if that fixes it.

I agree. I think the seller should be trying to help this buggy owner and providing a new carb to help rectify the issues here.
