I still don't get the concept of all the plates on this muffler. It comes with 12 and I added 8 for more air flow witch = 20. It deffinitely sounds deeper. Not sure if that is correct. On my first pipe I had 8 plates and it seemed ok . Is anybody useing this pipe that may know a good combination with these plates?and what does more or less plates give you?

With 20 discs you have essentially an open pipe. Try removing about half & see how it sounds & performs. Less discs make it quieter, increases backpressure for more low end torque and adding discs lessens backpressure to move the power band higher and makes it louder. The instructions should give guidelines on where to start for different applications. Did they suggest 20 discs?

No suggestion, I just figured I'd try something different. Since I added the K&N filter and some other mods. like the higher jets. the jets and the filter gave reason for more air flow? Later this week I'm going to the dunes and am bringing other jets and exhaust plates. It deffinitely gets with the program on the street, much stronger at half throttle or around 4500-5000 rpm.I think like what you said the higher the rpm, with more plates, gives more power. I am hoping this will work.

Chris,
I agree with the, less plate, off the linepower. But lately I have been needing more mid to upper range power. I think I may have over done it, but we'll see. I will let you know the outcome this weekend.

Like Guy said 10 plates worked the best. Anything more it had no power off the line and less it was running hot with little to no power. I still need more power though and I am working on it. Has anyone heard from Slimefink on his turbo experience?
I just put a Supertrapp on my blade 250 last weekend. I put all 12 discs on, and it sounded like the stock blade muffler. I went for a test drive down to the gas station. Some kids were going nuts over it and asked for a ride. i took one 16 year old around the parking lot, and it ran like a turtle. really slow take off, speed was terrible. seemed ok with just me in it. I'll have to play with various number of plates to figure it out.

I have a Dune 150 that any weight difference makes a big power loss. The smaller buggys are weight factored. As a rule of thumb any of the smaller buggys in my opinion need to run wide open exhaust with a large muffler. Baffles might be the problem.
