Posted my location! I think, so far I'm the closest to the North Pole! No Snow Yet! Unusually warm up here this fall!

Wierd that there are almost 1000 registered users in Buggynews but (so far) only 80 pins in the map.
It is also wierd that a bunch of people made a post about wanting to have a buggy rally and only 10 people have voted on that. I am starting to beleive that we have 1000 registered users but only a few active members. That's too bad, this is a great site for any buggy owner. When you buy a buggy, it should have buggynews.com as a great resource included with the documentation.

I'd love to do this. Dreamhost appears to have blocked the mass PM'ing abilities as an attempt to stop spam mail on it's servers. A real pain in the behind. I'm quite happy with dreamhost, but this is one thing that has made me think of switching.

is it possible to making pining the map part of registering to the site, not nessasarily * required but (optional)? I think by making it required it might turn some potential members away. the same for adding their location to their profile... just thinking.....

Another thing I was thinking about, server logs. Is it possible to make a macro program or script (i think thats what they are called) that counts how many times non-member access the site and then after say a dozen hits from that ip, when they try to access the site they would be prompted to join the forum telling them that they have visited the site 12 times and by joining it would give them a better insite to the info on here, ie. pics, vids, pm's ect, but not to lock them out from the site, just prompt them to join every time after the first 12,20 or what every you think would be a fair amount.... again just thinking.....

Anything is possible. But the more annoying you make a site, the less they will visit. I'd rather keep them coming... hoping that they find the site worth joining at some point in the future.

I still dont understand how you could come here on any type of regular basis, and not join for free to see all the pictures posted. It's so much better that way! Especially for the instruction threads.
