I talked to the owner of Reeper just a couple of months ago and they where fine. I think they are still going. On a side note, they come up for sale here on Craigs list every so often, usually for around 5K. Not very good performance, much more like a side by side than a buggy.

Only thing that concerns me....if you look at the picture of the assembly line..it looks like they don't have a real frame, just a chassis with a plastic body put on it. I'd be afraid to use it for anything if that's the case.

If I remember right the body on the one I saw was all steel. Pretty heavy ga. too which makes me think it's a tank on the scales.

Looks like a lot of body stuff to break. Might be good for street riding or the Christmas parade. But I believe less is better, and this is not less.

i'm with you on this one rockrunner. i like the looks of a jeep (older cj's) but not on a kart. that's too much to break.
On the buggies, i like a cage and maybe fenders....that's it.

For 7k you could buy at least 3 Samurais. 1300 cc, fully street legal, 4 wheel drive, and about the same size. Better yet buy one and use the other $6300 to upgrade the suspension so it doesn't beat you to death.

sand reeper?

Thu Nov 08, 2012 10:17 am

new to the forum. I am looking online for reviews and things on the sand reeper to see if its reliable or not. I can find videos of promos and a few people saying here is my sand reeper... but never a follow up or full review. anyone know where i can find some good reviews or know if they are anygood or not. I dont plan on much off roading with it, just think it looks different and if it gets 40mpg wouldnt be a bad work car. any info would be awesome thanks

Post some pic's. There are at least 3 different buggies that are called "Sand reaper" and there arnt many different companies importing buggies anymore. Allot more new names than new buggies. If we can see it we can tell you what the issues are.

Sorry didn't think of that heres a link to one of the dealers in my state http://www.bgproshop.com/Mini-Trucks.php

also i think orieon (sp?) motors is who makes this one. http://www.tobefast.com/sand-reeper-4x4 ... 02198.html seems to have more technical information on this site. thanks again

Re: sand reeper?

I have seen that buggy at several shows, and new one guy that owned one. They use the same 800cc engine that the Joyner, Roketa, Sunl and several others use. The engines are very reliable, although underpowered. The one thought I remember when looking at it in person, was how big it is (ie heavy) so more underpowered than most. And how expensive. They wanted 14K for the one I saw. For that much, I would look at Polaris or Yamaha, or one of the other big 6. Price about the same, but allot better parts availability and ALLOT better resale value. Good Luck Van

Thanks for the info. I was looking into a razr 900 and came across the reeper and the road legal part is what appealed to me most. Im still on the fence though but ive got time to decide and the closest reeper is 3 hrs each way to check out so ill def do more research before i make that trip haha. Thanks again.

Re: sand reeper?

That is no more road legal than a rzr. Alot of smaller towns allow golf carts on the town streets now and Arizona allows UTV's on the roads (i believe as long as they are licensed) but the sand reaper is not considered a car.

I'd buy a RZR for that price and at least you'd be able to get parts. Try inquiring about parts for the reaper and i'll bet they can't help you. Being made in China trust me that thing will be needing parts and there it will sit.

Just my 2 cents....
