The skinny is it is pretty fat. I had to adjust the spark plug gap to get the full effect but the acceleration is phenominal. Flat spot, completely gone.
I'll get pictures of the thing on later. Cost was 70 bucksand it plugs right in, so now I am up to 92 dollars in mods. Short end of stick is, my wife and I recommend it!
The difference in performance is not as dramatic as the jet/intake/altered pipe. Or at least I don't think so but maybe the proper way to compare is to put the perf CDI in a stock machine. There is quite a difference in acceleration. I asked about the coil needing to be hotter and Baron said they ran some tests and it is hot enough. Just open up the spark plug gap.
I recommend for those of you that want an edge, to order one. You'll be pleased but not blown away. Well, maybe those without jet mods will be blown away.
He also had some pipes in but they were for the 70cc go karts. He said the 150cc would be similar. I should have taken a picture but it was kind of set up like a motorcross pipe, not the eastside or white bros. Meaning, it was not just a pipe with a baffle on the end, there was a large chamber before the baffle like a 2 stroke pipe has. He is also expecting the mikuni 28mm's in soon.
I am not sure what else to say. As kell, I think, said once, it is amazing how one can continually tweak more power but each tweak seems to make less of a difference and one is reminded how terribly slow a 150 is.
One last thing, Baron modified a stock pipe (better than I did) and put a new intake on a stock 2 seater Kasea and he claimed it went 50mph. The Kasea must be geared higher. He is still working on the holy grail, the larger bore mod. and best of all...I think he is going to join this forum!

Heres the pics of my stock HSE 602 CDI and the new one provided by Baron. Like I said, its well worth purchasing and he has them in stock until all his Kasea customers come in. I think those with pre 2005 karts will greatly benefit as some 2005's have improved CDI's.

Check this guys, if you run without a rectifier, (of course your battery won't) charge but you can get a 8% increase in power! I have a guy who is developing performance cdi's and rectifiers, the performance rectifier will control the magneto rotor to run without the magnet field . the rotor runs lighter and saves power to the engine, so the engine gains more horse. kinda interesting, it only kicks in when the battery is near fully charged.
The guys to really work with are the ones racing the 125-250 motocross class bikes, they tear this stuff up, man they will do anythin for a tiny gain!

This is a gimmick, you could never feel the difference anyway. I caution about anybody wasting money on cdi/rectifiers to do this, the only advantage to a cdi that I have seen is to raise the rev limiter and I have never hit my stock rev limiter so there you go.
Full on racebikes (superbikes) run a total loss system where you have to charge your battery after every race. It cuts down on the engine drag but you are talking about trying to squeeze every minute hp out of the engine at the top levels of the sport.
Stick with the reliable basics, more air + more air out = more power. No magic here but when you go to the garage, your buggy will start and run all day, no "special" gas or anything just good times.
File this under the heading of ram air, nitrous, etc. etc. etc. kell

While Heath say he feels a difference with this CDI I can tell you I saw no difference with the white brothers CDI. Perhaps this one is different.
I also didn't try to adjust the spark plug gap, but for that, I thout the coil is the main factor. The CDI doesn't make the spark any hotter... just changes the timing.

you know, I probably agree with kell, But if the public wants them, I know where to get them. the biggest gains are in the basic changes and thats a fact!
