Well, that's another successful SoCal Bash done. This one was the largest yet. The Planetsidexside guys joined us once again. It is always good to see them. Oldman never did make it over. He was down in the area, but apparently was pretty sick. Pghruby and his wife Trish made the trek all the way from Washington and got a good dose of the desert. They were planning on staying there tonight as well.
We had a nice long ride yesterday thru the canyons, but environmental closures kept us from being able to reach our destination. Only a couple of buggies broke down all weekend. It was really great to see all the usual suspects and all of the new faces. As I write this a whole lot of families are making their drives home to as far away as Arizona, so godspeed to everyone and we'll see you all again real soon.
Tut Tech's custom buggy and Dirt Rockit's X-18 interceptor stole eveyrone's hearts. I'm tired so I'm gonna go rest, but there will be pictures and stories galore for everyone....the GTR didn't tow any Joyners this time.....but not for lack of trying

While the SoCal gang went home, we stayed on for more night. The Joyner 650 broke the same tie rod in two different places (ball stud on Saturday and ball carrier on Sunday). Since I ran out of material to work with for another fix, it has been converted to a trike to drive it in and out of the trailer. The Yerf is running strong. Both of us piled in and made a run to Salton Sea and then did some night riding around camp before going in for the night at 9PM. Hopefully Geek and others will start posting pictures since we did not take any on this trip. The Yerf could not keep up with the larger displacement buggies, but followed the RZRs and Rhinos while the Joyners, Carters and Jeeps sat and watched.

Pgh, you telling us that your yerf will go places that your 250 won't?
He's telling you it went where his 650 won't go. Truth is....we don't actually know. He's the only one who tried with his 150. The hill was sharp, steep and twisted a 180 at the top, with the last 100 ft or so being on smooth granite.
If you missed the turn because you had to gun it to get up you were going stright down a 300 ft CLIFF on the other side. If your buggy lost traction on that granite...you had to try to keep control and back down without ANY slidiing or losing control at all, because it ran up alongside ANOTHER cliff. It was just too dangerous just to see a phone booth someone had put at the top of the mountain.
And HIS reward for makin git up that was another hill that was tilted sideways at about 30 or 40 degrees as he tried to go up the last leg to the top. Failure there would ahve meant a roll, a fall, a crash and death. So....yeah all the other buggies sat at the bottom, as did most of the side by sides.

Yeah, I saw that. And his Yerf is a mountain goat. Tops out at only about 22-25 mph, tho, according to my speedo. The guys over at planetsidexside.com have posted a few pictures. Geek has a bunch of pics, but he spent all day yesterday at Knott's Berry Farm, so hopefully we'll see them today.

Well it was my first time to attend and it did not disappoint!! Everyone I met were very nice and treated me and my kids with open arms! Thank you. The buggy ride through the ravine was way cool and the boys thought it was the best. Crazy tight places and could not believe that Geeks Jeep Rubicon made it through
The bad thing about the trip is that I forgot both camera and video cause there were some shots and vids I would have loved to take for memories and to post!
I will make sure to bring something for dinner next time though cause I know what to expect! Sorry folks for not joining in on the buffet.
Ghost has one hella fast buggy. All I can say is that I had a smile from ear to ear when he took me for a ride. It was that FAST!! Awesome work on that buggy and I only wish I can get mine to run like that. But heck Xmas is around the corner and I'll put it on my wishlist!!
Thanks again to everyone who was there!! Those who could not make it, you missed out on a perfect weather weekend!
