This is what I have so far. Well the engine came out of an 81' Honda CM400E cruiser. The turbo is off of a 4 cylinder diesel engine. It is the smallest turbo that you can buy and will work on gas engine in the 20 to 75 hp range. The engine stock has 43hp. I will have to put all the numbers into my dyno sim to see what I should look for but I bet it will be in the low 50hp range. I will be using an open source fuel injection controller. The old carbs. are junk when running a turbo. This is a big conversion and will take a lot. I have already done some of the easy stuff and as I do more I will keep the thread going to the end. Enjoy

This is the engine setup. I have not got the flange to connect the throttle bodies to my intake. But hopefully soon I will.

I have thought long and hard about having reverse but don't want to spend thousands on a gear box. I will have to look into some of the homemade ones. That will be on the drawing board so if anybody has any ideas about how to add one I would like to hear them. I will post a copy of some specs. on the buggy hopefully tomorrow for anyone interested. It is called a manco helix and was built just for the tractor supply chain. I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for the $800 that was taken off because of a broken shifter handle. It only cost $25 to fix that problem :)

Look at this post on reusing the buggy's reverse on a jack shaft between the engine and axle:

One idea for a very basic reverse that's good for backing out of a jam but not much else is to mount a junkyard starter & flywheel on the axle or jackshaft & engage it with a pushbutton.

Well I read donnie's entire thread and he did a knock out job of getting me all hyped up and then no video. He used the same engine I am using except his was auto shift. I think that I will still stay a way from the reverse gearbox and especially the starter thing. I will keep it in the back of my mind, but right now I am focused on the fuel injection and my on board computer. Will discuss that one later after I can get some pictures of my setup and a detailed diagram of what I am doing. Has anyone heard of the micro squirt. Its a really neat setup and you can program it on the fly, fuel maps, timing, ect..

Yep. From another forum I'm involved with, If interested in reading http://www.cb1100f.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=13119&highlight=megasquirt

It's a MegaSquirt instead of the Micro, but it's still good info.
