Maybe make a short list of possible candidates and make that a poll.
Nothing beats good old democracy when it comes to choosing the town sherif.

I'm all for a Democracy, however in some circumstances it's best to leave some decisions at the Admin level.

By that I mean: 5(?) guys, the admins choose

No it really can't work that way. On occasion mods have to take unpopular actions so we can't make their selection a popularity contest.

That being said, it's always worked out to be a win-win in the past and will likely continue to be.

Sometimes it's hard to be clear, when your not a native English speaker.

I meant the admins choose a short list of 5 guys.
We choose from those 5 (or more).

Doesn't matter.. was just an idea...
