well im not totally sure on this im not much on electrical either.. but i have a switch that turns my running & headlights on.. thats factory on the 400... but the running light is full 12v.. the brake light works when the lights are off.. but when i turn them on the brake light is full 12v so the brake light dont work same voltage... i was wanting to put an inline diode to dim it while i had the lights on at nite... but im unsure where to start.. as i said too im no electrician..

Your brake light should have two elements. The dimmer element is your running light and the brighter one is the brake. If your light only has one element, you can convert it to dual use by running a resistor across battery power to give you running lights and full power to the brake switch for a brighter brake indication.
