i didnt make 2 much progress today... i had to drive 2 hrs today to get a marlin crawler bumper for my toyota truck.. i did weld 6 more braces from under the stock gas tank to the frame of the 400 today... i dunno if you can see it from the pix or not but i also have angle iron run from the buggy to the motor also.. these pix are from my cell phone since my puter crashed.. easier just to send them to my labtop from the cell...

I hate to rain on your parade, but I must. With that long frame you need about 10 more inches of clearance, unless your on flat ground. The way I see it ,and from me extending my frame just 3 inches, going over whoops big as Sunday's newspaper might give you trouble. You've got the makings of a killer buggy, right now you have a dragster. That's great if that's what you set out to do, if not slow down.

well i already do have a few dragsters... i have a 93 cobra 351w swap h/c/i on 15psi with methanol..i also have a 87 quadzilla that is built out of the gills... and the scariest is the extended shifterkart with a 900cc ninja motor on it... so im all about speed...... are you talking to me about slowing down on the building or slowing down the buggy? if i lifted it 10more inches it would look way weird

i hear ya.. the mono shock is alot stiffer than the blaster shocks so it doesn't have to much rear travel... if everything goes good im going to put some 27 inch tires on the rear... my gf's dad has a set on his fourwheeler i can try on and see what kind of difference that makes.. should give me nice ground clearance... and ill have the power to pull them now..

That thing would be so cool with a bigfoot kit on it. I run the 28 in 589's on my 4x4 and they will get you up out of the muck. It really is looking better but still a little long. You can shorten the swingarm about 6 inchs and have it even closer. I hope you dont have to turn it around much because with no reverse,..ouch.

how much would it cost to get the swing cut and re-welded? i dont have any argon to use my tig rig.. i would have to take it down to the college to weld it and i still think it would be hard to get it lined up straight and square, i would feel better just letting someone else do it if it wasnt to much... ive heard of folks exteneding them but not making them shorter lol..

There is nothing wrong with the buggy being longer it just needs more clearance. I think if you get bigger tires and change out the mono shock, and maybe even the front shocks, you can get what you need with out major surgery. Van
