Hello All,
I am very new to the whole mini buggy scene, and this board looks awesome. I purchased an '05 Tomberlin Punisher yesterday for my son and me to cruise around in when we go to the desert. I know there is probably a ton of mods I can do to get some more uuumph out of her, but my question is where should I start? This is my first buggy and I am looking for something that will be fairly easy for me to do. Another problem I am facing is finding a place that sells aftermarket parts. Any help would be great, thanks.

Welcome to BuggyNews! I know you and your son will have a lot of fun with that buggy!

Click the first link in my signature and check out the articles on that page, including the "where should I start?" article.

(Normally I'd post a long-winded answer but I'm too tired right now - and that page has most of the info I'd give anyway! :) )

hello and welcome most every body starts with the cvt mods
lighter rollers or sliders and go to a heavier main spring (torque spring)
open up exhaust some or upgrade it.then go to a better air filter and rejet the carb.then if you want more bottom end and climbing you could go bigger axle sprocket.
thats what alot of us have done. now for the desert riding there are guys that can be more help then me,the country is different my way.
cvt mods and air/ fuel and exhaust would be a good start.
cheap mods and pretty easy to do alot of info and help here if you need it.
air gun for working on cvt will make less headaches, if you have one.

good luck with new ride i'm sure you will have fun.

I'd like to add shocks to the other suggestions. The Punisher has a good basic suspension design but suffers from especially stiff shocks, with very little damping. Use the search button to find posts about adapting Blaster ATV shocks to the rear and ATV or snowmobile shocks to the front. Most of the posts relate to the nearly identical Dune150.

Here's a good start:

Thanks for all the great info. As far as where to get these parts, do most of you order parts online, or do you have local shops that have them. I have tried all of the local motorcycle shops and off road stores, and the common answer is "find the parts online." Any online sites would be a big help. Thanks again for all of the help.

I'm with Guy, shocks rule. Where I ride, I compare every mod to my shock upgrades.
