Ok thanks! Seems like I saw somewhere one was rated for 1500lbs. I'm not going to be anywhere near that with a yard trailer/wagon, two seats, two small kids, and some bars welded to it.
I have only ever see the 1500lbs tow capacity on the polaris ranger RZR. I dought that any buggy with a displacement of less than 700-800cc will acheive this, you might get 1000lbs from a 500-600cc motor. You can play with gear ratios to get more tow capacity, but you will be giving up top end speed.

Have you given any thought to pulling a wagon? Four wheels might be safer and more comfortable for 3 kids or 2kids and an adult. Tractor Supply Company might be a good place to find an ATV wagon.

Thanks. I still need to figure out which one to get.
Maybe one of those flatbed wagons from NT that can hold 500-1000lbs? Wouldn't need the capacity, but they have big tires, good steering (no roll over while turning), and a flat deck that I could bolt/weld whatever I want to.
I think this one would be more practical though. Weld in a cage, and maybe a roof then make the seats removable. I could use it for firewood, etc later as well. And it has suspension for all 4 wheels to give them a smoother ride.

This one seems ideal so far: cheap, all metal deck so I can weld to it, automotive-style steering, pneumatic tires, and bracing between the axles and frame (don't want them twisting out from under it! ).

I think you are moving in the right direction now. That flatbed wagon is a good start for installing all the safety and comforts Mama and the kids need Good Dad!

hehehe.... Maybe not with the kids.... The wife on the other hand.....
I like that idea though. Those trailers are probably small and fairly light (haven't seen one in person).
Maybe even leave the plastic on as splash guards, weld a cage around it somehow, and bolt some seats in.
Or just leave it as is for slow rides around the lawn where there's no chance of it rolling over.

yah it was about 7 feet long and as wide or wider than a buggy and yah i never thought of keeping the plastic on yah idn how heavie it was but they were going to use it to half the luggage to there house instead of making a car path through the woods they ended up just making the car path so the was just sitting in there barn the 4 wheels are close together but big like they could go over any thing and had a tractor hitch the bucket was prob 4 feet of flat and the res slant like 1.5ft in the frount and .5 ftin the rear you could prob do it easier than building it from scratch ill try to find a link
