I did enough research on the site to figure out my GT 150 problem. It would start and then die within about 5 secs. Changed plug (even though spark looked good), replaced old gas, fuel filter checked good, starter fluid tried, bystarter tested good, all vac lines looked OK. Did all the normal stuff.
Pulled carb, blew out all the ports and other stuff I could see. Pulled bowl and checked float operation, unscrewed jets and blew them all out. Got 3 little silver metal bits (looked like flashing left over from the mfg process) from one of the jets. Just enough of a flow restriction to inhibit proper operation. Reassembled and VOILA! Good to go! My kids think I'm a hero again.
Helpful hint: I used a ball inflation needle to blow air through everything. It worked really well.
One other thing. One of the electronic modules is heavy and broke the plastic mounting pieces off inside the plastic electronics enclosure. Secured it with gorilla glue and measured the distance to the bottom metal mounting flange; cut brass strips from an old door piece and filled up the space under the module. Untested at this point but we'll see how it works out.
This is a great site with lots of really practical information. I'll be back.
