I can't remember but we used something like an 1-1/8 or 1-1/16 inch standard socket for mine... Good luck. It's a quick job. If your frame is like mine you will have to remove the engine mounts and swing the rear A-arm away for bolt removal it was still less then 20minutes...
...Having too much fun is not allowed so please keep your enjoyment to a happy medium...

well got it done finally..

broke my mates rattle gun in the process..

tried for 30 mins to undo the variator 19mm nut, had it soaking in wd40 for 30 mins, tried many times and after wedging a bar between the variator blades to stop it spinning broke a blade, then another , then another finally all of them one by one broke..

unbelievable how tight it was on,

the clutch was easy as...

have to wait till saturday to test it out, started it up and revved up in gear with the buggy on stands and everything seemed to work as it should, that was a relief..

thanx for help everyone, i bought a 41mm socket today although i never wanna tackle the variator nut again..lol..

should be easier next time as from the factory it must have been loctited on..

anyway, all done, now for the fun to begin on the weekend..

Yep, That 41mm socket was a bear to find. Trip into the Big town twenty miles away and seven autoparts places could come up with one. Stopped at the little auto parts place six miles from the house and they had it. Go Figure. I'll never get that two hours of my life back.

Sure made changing the clutch out a simple job.

Make sure you have that variator nut on good, mine backed off during the last test run and chewed the blades on the stock variator up good.

Glad you "Git er done"!
