Hello My name is Joe Shiller, I am the sales manager at Yamabuggy. I just spoke with David from D&D Motorsports and he brought this forum to my attention. I see a lot of questions as to where our motors come from and if they are real Yamaha Motors. To answer your questions I can say that we are using only Yamaha Motors in our 400cc and 250cc buggies. These motors are built at the Yamaha JV Factory and we have been exclusively licensed to use these two motors by Yamaha. I want to clarify that these are not clone motors or cheap knock offs. These are built by Yamaha at their Joint Venture (JV) Factory which is held to the same standards of quality that Yamahas main factory is known for. These Motors are built to the same specs as a 400cc or 250cc motor that you would see in a Yamaha Big Bear 4x4 quad or a Yamaha bear tracker quad. Hey Everyone, I just want you all to see our article in SandSports Magazine comming out on the 17th of July. Check it out, we went to Glamis for this shoot and had both the Chief Editor Mike Summers, and the head photogropher out with us that day. I havent even seen the piece they did on our buggys yet and I wont untill tommarrow, we will find out together what they thought of our product. M. Hey Everyone, Im glad you all have questions on our buggys, Our MSRP is (pricing not allowed without sponsorship) on the 400cc X-Rover. The turbo kit cannot come installed as the EPA would have a heart attack although it is avalable and easily installed for the MSRP of $1200. I have only seen pics and video's of the 400cc. What about the 250?? Is it the same chassis as the 400 or smaller? RH |

Ray: According to other information I have read the only difference in the 250 and 400 buggy is the engine, and of course the price. The 250 is less expensive. Either case, tell us just how you are going to justify this to the wifey (I know what you are thinking)?  Van By the way, Team913 is soon to be a 155cc |

Yeah Talonman, I'll probably walk out to the garage one night and catch my buggy flexing its extra 5cc of muscle in the mirror when it thinks I'm not looking And yes we gy-6ers do have to stick together. We're the smart ones. We get the most FUN bang for our buck

Could you possibly give more information about this buggy being Street Legal, if any exists? Have you registered or heard of one being registered anywhere in the US as of yet? I'm already really interested, but if I will be able to get this registered in my state (TN) I'm sold! |

States vary in their requirements so you'll need to check with the TN DMV or whatever you call it there. In MI a cop needs to inspect the buggy and check off the long list of required equipment. It would probably be VERY helpful if you already know a cop who might then lean YOUR way on some of the "gray area" items (like if you must have a windshield and whether it HAS to be glass or if shatterproof plastic is OK). Let us know what you find out. This is still very much undiscovered territory. |
