Here's what it took:

Level 2 inspection at the Arizona MVD
Emissions test
Insurance

It was a total pain! Especially having to take it through emissions twice(it failed the first time).

But I can now legally irritate my neighbours.

Say what? Why did you have to emission it? You don't have to do a golf cart. You didn't tell them it was 20hp did you? I was planning on telling them it is 8hp.

where at in north carolina you from.. im on fort bragg.. and need to know where to buy these things... local dealer only carries carter.. so no 250's as of yet

I don't remember ever seen you post what tires you had for street use. I can swear I remember you saying you had 24" tires but I could be wrong. Anyway, what are you using for the road?

Good to hear, I'm going to get mine on the road next year. Luckily Michigan doesn't have emmisions so that won't be a problem.

Other than that, the Joyners come with everything else.

I don't know if mirrors are a requirement. But I did put one on mine prior to the inspection.

I think, in AZ you must have a rear view mirror, horn, and either a windshield or wear goggles. The emmission test is in certain counties. I live in pinal, no emission crap to worry about. Theres some catches to where you can drive if you declare 8hp. Not that I would want to take something as slow as these buggies on an interstate, but hey, someone may. More than likely, they'll just treat it as an atv and you'll get atv plates.

Yea I agree with you Heath. I don't have any intention of taking it anywhere you couldn't take a golf cart though. I know CLMZ has his golf cart registered and he didn't do any emission testing.

Man, Arizona is too cool with the registration process... you guys are killing me. Now if they could just do something about the heat... What's the average temp the rest of the year (besides these 3 months???) -Steve

MVD told me that anything over 90cc's has to be emissioned. In any event, mine went through pretty easily. It just took a few turns of the pilot screw to get it into compliance. Working at a dealer does have some advantages.

I never knew it was possible to legalize them. I'm in Michigan and I believe that I would have to install a mirror, turn signals maybe, and a horn. What about engine size, the capability of only doing 40 mph, still possible to legalize? I have the Titan 2 with the 250cc motor. If so, that would be great as I have neighbors calling 911 everytime they see anything other than an automobile on our private dirt road.

I got my Carter fron Northern Tool. That was befoe I knew about Extremetoys in Lake Norman. Thats about the only place I know of except for ordering off of the internet.

What did the level 2 inspection consist of, and how did they test the emissions? Sounds like something I want to do next.

But I've got a set of 25x13.5x10 inch Dick Cepek Spider-Tracs, on Douglas .190 wheels, that I'm gonna use for the desert and street. My current gearing(13/39) is too low for those conditions. But with the 25's, it should be about perfect. By using two different size tires, 25's for the desert/street and 22's for the dunes, I won't have to change my gearing for the conditions. Just swap tires.
