Hello everyone I am new to the buggy scene. I have alot of questions for anyone who can help me get started. I just purchased 2 new Crossfire 150R buggies for my kids (Christmas). i pick them up fro Sams Club tomorrow. We are a family transisioning from dirt bikes to buggies. My kids have been riding dirt bikes since they were 7 and 8yrs old (riding 50's). They are now 11 and 12 (kx65 and yz85) and "I" we are ready for a change. I am 37 and ready to trade in my ol' 250 for something the wife and I can enjoy together also. Both my boys have been competing in motocross the last 2 years but it is to stressful for the family. Will these buggies be to much for them in the beginning? And what should I look at for the wife and I to purchase before spring. We sold my 250, the wifes banshee 350 twin, both kx 65s and yz 85. Still have a mint 85' kd 80 (not for sell). And now 2 crossfire 150r's. I havent even assembled yet. I see alot of brands and wonder whats the best for the buck? I looked at a new carter bros. Talon but for the money couldnt see anything better than the crossfire. Any response would be appreciated. Im a old head, newbie to the sport? I wish they made carts like this when I was younger. Still a kid at heart
Thanks, To start with i will purchase something we can both ride together. maybe seperate buggies later on. We will mostly be doing trail riding. She is a adrenline junkie so power and speed are a must to keep her interested.

you may want to skip right to the Polaris RZR then, not that these buggies aren't fun, and good cheap family fun at that. But then again, a 250 buggy may suit you guys fine, coming off a banshee though may be a transition for your wife.
Even though your kids are used to the hit of a 2-stroke, they will still enjoy their buggies. By the way, those crossfires are a bargain for what you get, most people that purchase them love them. My 14 year old nephew who is jaded by many fast dirtbikes and 4-wheelers still loves to ride the buggies, they are just a lot of fun.
My wife has vetoed all dirtbikes and 4-wheelers for our boys, and rightly so. I guess years of seeing me post crash has left her less than enthusiastic about them. I am assuming that is what you mean by stressful? I know it can also get pretty expensive (racing that is).

The Rzr is pricey but you've probably banked some good $$ with your clearance sale I don't want to come across as a Rzr cheerleader but it sounds like it would be a good fit for you guys. Fast (60mph), agile, tough, 4WD, and narrow enough to follow (or lead) the kids into tight trails. What part of the country are you in? At lower prices but still scary fast are the 800 & 1100 buggies but if you ride in the woods you might get frustrated with their 60"+ width.
Great choice on the kids' presents, BTW!

Thanks for the replys. I will definately look at the Polaris. I am in central Texas "the hill country". I am glad to know I made a good purchase for my kids. I picked up the buggys today and i will assemble them tomorrow. Any tricks or tips for assembly? I did stop and get a big bottle of Lok-Tite. I also ordered fenders for them yesterday. Thanks

CONGRATS!!!! You need to PM this guy immediately: KRUSEKONTROL.
He has 2 crossfire 150R's and 2 crossfire 150's.... The second 2 are yellow and dont have front brakes or reverse...
The ones you purchased are the twin of my buggy, the dune 150. Your boys will love them!!! They are not lightning quick, and they are not terribly powerful, but they are a blast, and safe as heck too!!! As long as those guys wear their belts and helmets, they will be amazed at how fun these things are!
As per any tricks with the x-fires, you got the loc-tite part down, but be wary about the seat belts.. like all chinese buggies, the belts tend to loosen easily, so keep on top of those, or get ready to spend a little for a couple of simpson belts or something safer. Keep the filters clean after any longer rides, and every so often, check the carb for debris, as these buggies seem to have a tendency to gunk up in the carb easily.
