I am about to take my family out for our first trail ride. Any scenic, intermediate places near Phoenix area that is buggy friendly? Also, anyone know where there is an RV park that has access to trails without having to leave the park?

I am staying and riding out of an rv park on Highway 60 South east of Apache Junction. The desert is accessible right out of the back gate for miles and miles. This area just south of the Superstition Mountains is very pretty.

Check out my videos of the area trails and riding...

For a map of the area go here:

The red line is a gps track of a ride.

You can access this area from hiway 60 if you look for a gate on the east side at around milepost 206.

The rv park (The Arizonian) is primarily a 55+ snowbird park but I doubt is they would turn away a younger family as business is very slow this year. Most of the residents ride atvs out of the park. The park is about 10 miles south east of Apache Junction.

The trails range from mild to wild so there is a lot of flat terrain as well as some steep gnarly hills and rocks to play in. This is State Trust Land so standard permits apply.

PM me if you need more info...

Thanks,

Lee

PS. I mostly lurk as I ride an ATV. Don't own a buggy yet.

My son and I ride mostly north Phx , north of the 101 and Tatum, Cave Creek Rd, Wildcat OHV near Bartlett lake is very scenic. I also know of or been to spots on the far Northwest side like surprise and whitmann. Then on the East side theres the Rolls OHV at the base of the Four Peaks.
If you take Bell Rd west from Grand Ave it turns into Sun Valley Parkway and curves around the moutains. If you look on google earth you can see the wash there and some gravel pits, suppose to be some great rides there.
Can't really think of a place next to an RV park.
You might want to talk to Ghosthunter on here. He knows where alot of trails that lead to old mines and ghost towns are.
Feel free to PM me and I can tell you some great buggy spots to check out.
