My son wants a buggy for Christmas and at first I was going to get him a little 1 seater. Then after looking around I decided that I want to get a 2 seater that we can both have fun together with. I will have to do the driving first. I have looked at tons of different ones online and am just further confusing myself. I think I like the Joyner 250 the best.

Carter Brothers GTR 250 or 300. Big improvement over our Twister 150. Smaller and lighter than the Joyner. We have only taken it out once but it did really did well climbing hills with 2 13 year old girls riding it.

I love my Joyner 250. I shopped around and Joyner built the best machine in my opinion (and that and a $1 still wont get ya a cup of coffee). My uncle has a 05 Joyner 250 that he has put about 1000 miles on. He has not had any trouble with his. That was my main reason for buying mine.

I live in AZ and Joyners headquarters are located here in Tempe. I buy my upgrade parts from Glade @ Edgepowersports. He is a dealer and a sponsor here. His email is edgepwrsports@aol.com. Real good guy to work with. His handle on here is doonrunr

are you looking for a 150 or 250? there are pros and cons to each. stick with the better brands, joyner, carter, hammerhead, kinroad, blade, american sportworks,
where in jersey are you? the best thing to do is go to the nearest dealer and sit in one, drive one, check out the dealer.
if that is not possible choose the buggy that will fit your needs, check here for the best dealers and have one drop shipped.
we have alot of good dealers on here that can you with anything you need.

I am in Toms River, NJ and there really arent any dealers around. The only dealer remotely close is a Carter dealer. It just seems that the Carters are rather expensive for a 150cc
Yes, the "sticker shock" on a lot of the name-brand buggies can be an issue. But the thing is, you're not really paying for that name - you're paying for a quality product that has a tried and tested reputation for better construction, parts, service and support.
In many cases in the buggy world, you get exactly what you pay for. Poorly (cheaply) constructed buggies often have random problems unrelated to how you drive them, and getting them serviced under warranty can be a difficult process. For example, one of my buggies somehow had a loose nut work it's way into my engine (no idea where it came from! Some leftover manufacturing debris most likely) and messed it up pretty good. It took me 3 weeks on the phone just to get them to approve me taking it to a service center, took that guy a month to get around to looking at it, another 3 weeks for parts to be delivered, and another week and a half for him to finish the work and pick up my buggy.
Once all this was said and done, my 90-day warranty was long over, and I had only been able to ride it for about 6 hours in 3 months. All because I bought cheap.
This is not to say that the Brand-Name buggies are manufactured completely without flaw, but if something does go wrong, you should have less of a headache getting it fixed. This is another reason that many members here suggest purchasing from a local dealer rather than having one shipped to you: you'll have a local contact point for that service, if needed.
Good luck with your purchase, and remember to do lots of research.

I dont know what he is getting for them, but look at the warranty, limited 1 year on the engine, 6 months on the rest of it. who else is going to warranty an engine for a year?
carter had been building go karts since 1964, so they know what it takes to make a good product. if that is the closest one then go sit in it, test drive it. I sell the xp150 for $2889.00 and the zr for $2489.00
