Im going to install a windshield on my buggy real soon just for hunting season to cut the cold not to use on a ride with my friends. Mud on the windshield while your riding, would be a pain to keep clean but I cant see it being a problem in the snow I was planning to use Lexan instead of plexiglas. the reason why is that lexan is easier to cut, shape and drill than plexiglas. I use zipties to hold my top on (I made a soild top from a 3/8 piece of plastic sheet, I like it better than the soft top) The zips hold it just fine and figured it will hold a windshield just fine too....

Lexan (polycarbonate) costs a little more but if you plan to use it more than one winter it would be worth it. Plexiglas (acrylic) is pretty brittle. Another option for mounting that might help the plastic to last longer is mounting with velcro. The velcro will allow the cage & windshield to flex a little without cracking.

i bought plexiglass for my windshield. i wish i have bought lexan. as guy said, plexiglass is brittle. as careful as i could have been, pieces still broke off. i used zip ties. when i drilled the holes, i got cracks in the glass also. so, if i do it again, i'll purchase lexan, at leas 1/4" thick. no more plexiglass. cause if you driving along and a branch or something hits it, it will shatter. safety first.
