| Post subject: | Hammerhead GT250? |
I was looking at menintools.com and noticed they have an ad for a new Hammerhead model called the GT250. Claims to be in the same frame as the GT150, but with a 250 motor. No pics, not much info other than that. I wonder if this will have a solid rear axle similar to the Carter XPR 250. |

to the best of my knowledge neither is out yet. both will have a solid rear axle. |

I really don't mind a solid rear axle. And 250 in a 150 frame is soo much better. |

There's so many people looking for a buggy with these specs I'm suprised it's taken so long to get one into production. Solid axle or not, a small frame 250cc-300cc unit is what's desired. That in a prodution model will lead to even more options/after-market products. It's a long standing story that still shows promise. |

There are some photos now on their website. 250cc liquid cooled motor, solid rear axle, only one forward gear, though, which is interesting. Check out the size of that rear brake rotor. Looks like a cool machine. The rear rack is different, too. Not a terribly bad price for a 250 from a decent manufacturer. http://www.menintools.com/twisterhammerheadgt250.html Whaddya say, Funnyman. My gk-19 frame has the exact same dimensions as this buggy |

I think dazon had a 250 str axle in a small frame.Ireally like the HH 250ss the size , hi/low trans.and the ind rear susp.I weighed my blade at a truck scale they told me 580 lbs? |

Yer right about the Dazon. Also, I think the IRS is worth the extra money. What would really be cool would be shift on the fly, like that little Baja 90. That's a cool little setup. |

The IRS definitely allows the rear tires to hook up with the ground better and provides better clearance. The down side to IRS is additional weight and more moving parts. |
