Hi folks. I'm going to get my first kart in a few weeks. I'm leaning toward the Kandi 150-md listed at Atvdiscounters. I also looked at some at Pepboys and Samsclub last weekend. From what i have been reading over the last several days, All of these karts are going to require a certain amount of tinkering to keep them going. I don't really mind the tinkering much but i do need to be able to get parts when needed. Has anyone had experience with Atvdiscounters or this particular kart? Thanks in advance.

I don't personally have any opinion on ATVDiscounters, but generally speaking, you get what you pay for when you purchase an off-brand like that.

I also invite you to do a Google search on ATVDiscounters. On the first page alone, 8 of 10 results are complaints about the company, with the other 2 being results for the company's own web site. That alone should answer your question about dealing with them.

If you update your profile on Buggy News, there are probably some other buggy enthusiasts in your area who might be able to help you or direct you to a local dealer.

If you do end up purchasing a kart online, keep in mind that most (not all though) deep discounter ATV sales are dropshipped with no after-sale support and virtually 0-warranty support from the dealer - even if they sold you an extended warranty.

http://www.awesomebuggy.com is one of the good online sales outlets for buggies, but I encourage you to visit a local store, if possible.

As for aftermarket parts, there are several dealers that frequently contribute to this site for you to choose from. Myself, BIGE, doonrunnr, and The Blade Guy all offer aftermarket parts and support.

Well said Dustbuggy... totally agree.

My thought is... if it's a "discount" price, there's a reason. Most likely what's gonna break first on a cheap buggy, is something that NEEDS to be OEM and MUST come from manufacturer, and you probably won't have an easy time getting any help.

Buy a good cart like Carter, Joyner, Hammerhead, etc.. and you'll have a quality machine, with tons of support and advice. The only things that will likely break from regular usage will be easily replaced... like belts, bearings, seals, etc.

I can't speak for anything but my carter talon... but I can tell you it's been dropped, rolled, banged, beaten, drowned... and still keeps ticking.... (for the mostpart) If you have to baby the machine over every little bump... it's not really that fun.

welcome to buggynews, do a search on here for atv discounters. it aint pretty. always buy local if at all possible, if not check the dealers on here that can drop shipp, that way you will get support when you need it

Try calling some of your local ATV or motorcycle dealers to see if they can order karts. I have a local dealer that sells Carter and BMS but only orders them on request because his show room is small and side by sides sell better here in WV than karts do. So just because a dealer doesn't have something doesn't mean they can't get it. Plus you can never go wrong with having a local dealer than can deal with getting your parts for you:)
