First post here as i am new to the forum...Just picked up a used 2021 Trailmaster 300 XRX-e real cheap. It is having an issue with staying running and will bog down when giving it more than half throttle, if you do get it running....
I noticed the "engine light" on the dash is on and was wondering if this is an indication of a code being stored for an issue? Is there a service manual or a way of checking if this is some sort of stored code?
I've found multiple sites and pdf's for the standard 300 XRX owners and parts manuals but these are all carbureted models.

Any help is appreciated.

thanks

EFI is new to the buggy world, so there are few resources to help you. There should at least be an intake mass air flow sensor and an exhaust O2 sensor controlling fuel. Fuel injection timing may run off the same crank sensor used for spark rather than a cam sensor. I don't have specifics for your setup, but at least this may give you an overview of a generic EFI setup.

Like a carbureted system, look for intake and exhaust leaks, adjust your valve lash and timing, and make sure you have good fuel flow.

ok, why is it every time i hit submit i get asked to login again and then i loose the post i have written. let's try this again for the 3rd time.

Thanks for the response. I am very familiar with EFI and carburetor systems. Mechanic for 25 years....Air, fuel, and spark systems appear to be working properly. however without a specification manual i cannot verify the valves and timing. Was hoping to find a resource here....

I'll start looking at other options and will also be sure to update on findings if this might help someone in the future.

Do a compression test. Should be about 150psi or so with the accelerator to the floor.

I believe the engine specifications for valves did not change from the carbureted version. They just replaced the carb with a throttle body on the same head.

I am not 100% sure but check for the Yamaha Majesty 300. If I remember right, the engine you have in your machine is base on the Yamaha engine. I don't have the engine with me but you should be able to compare with what you have in front of you. It might also be easier to find info you need.

DOUBLE CHECK FIRST !!! I might be wrong.
