After some searching in the junkyard finally found the vechicle to get electric power steering from. I seen where someone had done a mod like this on a different sxs but can't seem to locate it.

Planning to pick up a 02-07 saturn vue steering column early next week. Should be from steering wheel to steering shaft that goes to the rack and pinion. Later in the week gonna try to start making and installing brackets for install with the help of 00dawg.

I'm also looking into setting up eps, my question is whether or not the vue/cobalt units will require an alternator or if upgrading to a bigger or dual battery system will suffice? right now with the LTZ engine, i doubt i have enough juice returning to the battery to support the amp draw of one of these.

Didn't spot any information regarding this aspect in the epx mod threads looking for input from anyone using them to see what they encountered. TY

Not sure about the draw. But I know there is a bolt on eps for most sxs and they do not require any extra amperage to keep everything functioning as it should. I know that is for utv/atv but not sure if the automotive is the same or not though.

unfortunately, the sxs units are out of my price range. i can pick n pull a saturn/vue for less than e-bay pricing, but don't want to pull the trigger only to find that the unit can't get enough juice.

hey guys I just put a good quilty battery in and it works fine even at night with led lights going. its on the stock 250 motor. its an awesome mod my wife loves it

Thank you Jeffro, was looking for at least one success story with a stator-type charging system. I only run a brake light and alarm siren horn, so there's no real demand on my system. What size/type battery are you using? I stepped up to a much larger one last season, hopefully it will suffice as its about the 5th battery tray i've built into mine. getting a little tired of doing that job,
