sweet you gained top speed how does it climb did you gain tons or just a little bottom?
i wan to see pics of this thing i think ive never seen a 300

Well, thanks to BigE,I ordered 18 gram sliders and a red Malossi main spring for the 300. These are the same as for the 250---the clutch is identical on these two buggies, as well as the SYM rv250 SCOOTER and various other scooters and ATVs. The "nut from devilville" on the CVT for this buggy is 1 9/16". You can find that Socket at your local Sears. It is a 3/4" drive socket. I also bought the 1/2" to 3/4" adapter so I could use my electric impact. Anyway, the difference is fairly dramatic in low end torque--we now get that pushed back in the seat feeling. What surprised me, tho, was that we gained a little on the top end as well. With two guys weighing about 400 lb. total the buggy used to top off at 43 mph. I got it up to 45 after the mods and had more, but got kinda nervous. I expected to lose some top end, so this was a pleasant surprise. So, we're very happy and looking forward to modding this puppy out more and squeezing every bit of energy out of that 300 it has to give. |

Sounds good. I myself like the 18g sliders for speed and torque. The thing is there are so many hills with loose dirt here, I need to stay in the lower gear just a little longer. With the 18's I'm climbing and accelerating up the hill then it shifts and levels out. With the 15's it's like a constant increase until you reach your top speed. Is it just me that feels like if you test sliders on asphalt the differences are minor, but dramatic once your in the dirt. Thats why any time I do a mod I always test them on the same course. Can you show me a picture of your cart rear and how the engine is mounted. Thanks Greg |

Geek, I don't have any 17g's sliders only rollers. But I would think 17g are good. When I bought the 18g sliders, the dealer only had 15g, and 18g in stock. I'd like to try the 17g's, but I already have 3 set of sliders/rollers, sitting doing nothing. Bryce here's my take, Joyner's are heavy, so I think chasing speed is waste. (I'm going to do that with a motor upgrade). However if you upgrade your suspension, mod for torque, acceleration, and performance you will be able to drive faster on the trails, hills, and whoops, that'll put a smile on your face, trust me. firebird, mrp, still doesnt have it. do you know the dimentions? malossi might have an adjustable clutch for it |
