Hey all

I think I have found the upgrade I'm looking for

1st is a 94' polaris 400 l
2nd is a 97' kaw 600r

the 400 needs work..{tranny parts and gone through}
the 600r has 1000 miles on it and comes with everything to run and has 100 hp

now I just need to make a choice

any ideas or concerns?
I know with the 600r there will more things to overcome..but all that power!

If you don't mind shifting go for the 600. It would be a lot of fun to drive providing you keep it on all 4 wheels... If not repairs are going to get costly. Myself I would run a cvt engine in this application.. I like always being in the right gear. However myself the 400 wouldn't be enough maybe 5 or 600 Cc 2 stroke.

If the Polaris 400 is the 2 stroke then that motor has a TON of power. You could also incorporate the Polaris tranny and CVT that way you could keep reverse. One of my buddies has an older Polaris Trailblazer with the 400 2 stroke in it and it is scary fast. It has a few minor mods, clutch kit performance reeds and a couple other little things. It will even out run one of his friends CAN-AM 800. I think the 400 is basically the same motor as the 350L that JABO used in his buggy so you may want to hit him up for some advice.

Yea, I think I'm going over there tomorrow to take a good look at the quad.He said the the engine is rebuilt, we will see, I will need the tranny parts though,that is the only thing missing.

But the price is right,and it has everything else

I like the cvt for mine. I think the 400 would have plenty of powe. Check ebay for a used tranny. I have seen them go for under a $100.

Here is a link to my thread on putting a Polaris 350L in my 150.
