I just received my new carb. It is a Mikuni TM 24mm slide carb. It should have better throttle response then the CV carb and also has a manual choke. I hope to get it installed in the next couple of days. I am installing new cable so that if I ever want to go back to the CV carb, I can just swap them out. Here are some pics.

Sweet. It should be better. I'll be waiting for the results.

I know the slide carb on my XTV makes the GY6 very crisp on throttle response for sure.

Steve-

Is the stock carb on your xtv a slide carb or did you put that afterwards? What kind is it?

I have been wanting for a report on using a Mikuni slide carb on our buggies. Keep up the good work TwisterMania.

Great looking carb too. I hope it works out well.

Do you need a different carb manifold, or will the stock work out fine?

I have a connection at Comet Kart Sales in Greenfield, IN. They specialize in race karts. It is owned by Indy Car Driver Mark Dizmore. A guy that rents a house from me owns a shifter kart team and knows everyone at Comet well. He got me the carb at the wholesale price of $136. It retails at $238. Your best bet might be to go to www.sudco.com. Email or call them about the TM 24mm slide carb. Sudco is the largest Mikuni dealer in the US. They are in Los Angeles.
