Ok - its not a buggy video, but we had a lot of fun making it! Made this video last year and forgot about it. This cannon runs off compressed air - no more than 40-60 psi or the gun misfires. Made of all schedule 40 PVC - it can hande well over 200psi of pressure, so it is relatively safe...as long as you are not in front of it!! Spud gun constructed by my brother. Camera operated by my son (Michael). I'm shootin the spuds.

Hahahaha... now i REALLY wish you hadn't have shown me that...
It's a little slow at work right now and I sell high pressure gas pipeline fittings like pipe and valves, up to 10,000 psi.
I'm gonna try to forget i saw this....

Here in California that is called a felony, I kid you not! Potato launchers are considered missile launchers by state law....other states, the boy scouts earn badges by making them...go figure.

i made one before but not with compressed air. I used hairspray. 2 different sizes of pvc pipe with reducer between them the larger pipe is for the accelerant and the smaller pipe is the barrel. spray hairspray in it and cap it off then use bbq flint igniter mounted in it...would miss fire sometimes other times would sound like a shotgun blast! I have heard people use propane sometimes. The trick is just put the potato in the end then after you spray the hairspray push the potato further down the barrel to compress the air before you fire it. Built right they say you can put a frozen orange through a 1/4 inch of plywood. They can be very dangerous on the receiving end. First time mine fired my buddy was shooting it i thought it exploded bc it was soo loud! I was thinking i hope he didnt lose any limbs.....We had a good laugh though when we watched and saw flame shoot out of the barrel 2 feet and the loud BANG and everyone was safe.
