I met gogokarting, rockrunner, whatharley and team brown out at durhamtown http://www.durhamtown.com/ to check out the boss 500, Bill brought the yellow on ( 63 inches wide ) and we looked over for awhile checking out the welds, mounting points, controls and everything we could get to.

We then took it on the trails with differnt terrains for it to run thru, eveything from trails, BIG rocky type trails, mud holes, BIG LONG hills, short steep hills and dirt roads.

The machiune impressed us all, it has great power in all gears and hadle eveything we could throw at it ( we only hit half the trails yesterday ) we stayed the until 4:30.

The BOSS 500 climbed steep short hill and long steep hills in high and low, one person and two person in it, didnt need to get to full throttle much at all.

Handle the rock trail with no trouble at all, the suspention works great and gives a very nice ride thru the rock trail andf the whoops on the other trails.

It handle the mud holes with ease getting into some deep sticky mud all the way to wet nasty cover your butt up type mud.

The turning radiuus is very good for a machine its size and will do good doughnuts. on the drag strip 250-300 ft long it did well.

The pros:
very well built
tons of power in any gear
4 wheel drive
nice ride
comes with nice 12 inch wheels and tires
factory winch
factory off road lights
room enough for a 6' 4 plus person
grab handle for the passenger
nitrogen charged adjustable shocks
cfmoto engine
drive train is coverd with skid plates

The Cons:
new to the market, durablity question
A few of the mounting tabs I think could be thicker
the floor pan is a thick, slick abs type material, nned to have a texture to keep your feet from sliding around while getting in and out

All in all I think its a well built and powerful machine that can handle just about all types of terrain with ease.

Any starting problems with the 500 when hot or stalled?

no problems yet-

It did gargle abit after the mudpit episode where Luke submersed the Boss 500cc 4x4 in mud.
(Probably got some mud in the stock intake)
Other than that no starting problem.

I havn`t had much time to get o here at Buggynews, I`ve been busy at work. But I would have found time to come to durhamtown saturday if someone (maybe ERIC) would have called or shot me an email :o :( :x I guess my buggys power and handling makes others seem inadequate. Still I always try to get in touch with my friends and let them know of an upcoming ride(the more the merrier) makes me feel unliked. Oh well glad someone had fun!

Let just add one thing, the pictures and video do not show how steep these hills are. they are as steep and some were steeper than those at turkey bay

I think they need to let Chuck O or Digger put one of these things through the ringer at the bash. Then we'll really know what their capable of.

I have a serious place to ride here. All kinds of rude things to get into.
Big roots , hellacious mud , sand , river to ride in , big limbs down , holes , etc.

I'll put it though Hell-o !!!

lol
