I have had mine for about 2 weeks and have only had time for one long ride. So far I am very impressed. This thing rides so smooth with the IRS and the low range really gives it great climbing ability. I ride on mostly mining trails and rough terrain with some steep very rough spots and it went everwhere I wanted to with ease. I originally thought the 250 might be under powered but it isn't. It will run around 42 mph in high on a hard surface and low is good for around 20 or so. Deep sand in some areas in the wash will slow it down but not to bad. I still have to play with the tire pressure for sand (I had about 7 lbs in them). The only thing I can fault is it is a bit on the loud side with the stock exhaust but so are all the others with a similar type of pipe. I think that anyone that buys one will be amazed at how much you get for the price. This has to be one of the best bargains out there in a small buggy. I have had a Polaris Ranger and an Arctic Cat Prowler before and you could buy 3 of these for the price of one of them and have just as much if not more fun. I bet the Sand Viper is a lot safer too.

That looks just like mine Curt, ha-ha

That chain sprocket in the back, even though it only sticks out 1 1/2 inches is always in the back of my mind because I do a lot of rock crawling.

I put this old motorcycle guard on it and knocked it off almost right away. So my neighbor and I are going to design and weld a sprocket cover on there for more protection.

This is good input for John or David at Joyner...maybe a sprocket guard for the next model???

Here is a better picture, the chain sprocket has 9" ground clearance, about 1" lower than the rest of the buggy.

when I'm blazing down a trail I don't want to worry about catching a rock, I want to slide over them, that's why I'm going to weld a guard under there.

Being IRS its still much better that a solid shaft however.

Thats a good idea. You could put a heavy steel skid plate under there and never have to worry about it again.

Finally got around to fabricating and welding a small skid plate to protect the sprocket, actually my neighbor Steve did it.

Now I don't have to worry about my wife hitting a rock because I'll be driving the 650 Soon. Oh Ya!

very good idea I just got mine yesterday and i am going to do that too. do you know if the shiny bottle on the side is supposed to be full of antifreeze? how do I check the level, and how do I drain it? I want to put a good high quality of antifreeze in it. these things are sweet buggies!

Its an over flow reservoir so about half full is good. You have to pull one of the lines off the bottom or unbolt it to dump it out.

I changed my coolant in mine also, it was only protecting to about 20 degrees, not good enough for me.

That skid plate turned out great. Where did you find that paint. It looks like a perfect match.

Nice job on the chain/sprocket guard. You know, all you guys with the new Joyner 250 are really starting to make me jealous. :P

That's nice to know. Thanks. So when do you get the 650? Did you get the Spider or Viper?

I am getting the 650 Spider, want to keep the smaller foot print.

I was told Thunder should get there shipment in this week and my dealer a few days later.
It seems like all of a sudden there are no new 650's to be found, there selling quite fast. Do you have them in stock?

Here in Reno we went from no Joyner dealers to three in the last few months.

I looked at your web site, I may be interrested in the Turbo setup if I ever get any feedback on how it performs.

I am looking to purchase two 250 buggies...At first I was looking at Awesomebuggie and I was going to go with a Titan. I was looking to spend about $2000...After reading much info on Buggynews I am having many different thoughts. I have 10 acre , 5 acres are field which can get pretty ruff even for my Suzuki Vinson 500 4 wheeler. I have 4 acres of woods which can be tight & whoopy do's...I was hoping to race them in my fields and also trailer them to local 4-wheeler parks in Pennsyvania and ride on the 4 wheeler trails. That means climbing steep mountains...

I am now thinking about a Joyner 250 Sand Viper...I really don't want to spend more than $2500...But I am willing to pay more if I get good quality, dependability and Customer support...I am frugal and I will continue to do research and shop for the best price...

So any imput will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks for the tip, I have to check if their purple matches
mine. I could use some touch-up paint. :)

Awesome workmanship, definitely passes as "factory install"
chinese maybe not, I used ,what I thought to be the best match of red , Rust-O-Leum, but nowhere near a match as your blue.

On the Coolant Note, can you use Honda ATV "Blue" Coolant? I use it on my KFX 400, but what about a buggy?
