Bought an 05 Dazon 175 Raider Max 2 seater recently. Drove allright for the first 5 minutes. Then would start and die shortly after. I cleaned the air filter and replaced the spark plug and it corrected the problem. Then the net day it would run at idle but when the engine was under any demand it would spit and sputter and stumble on acceleration and continue to do so while in range while the engine is running above idle. I replaced the fuel filter and it seems to do it still. Any ideas on what is happening????????

to me it sounds like you have had some junk in the carb or tarnish that has let lose and gotten into the jets in the carb, this happens.
i would drain the carb pull it off and take the carb bowl off then unscrew the pilot jet and main jet make sure there open.maybe take some carb cleaner spray in them then blow them out with air.

how does the intake look any cracks in it that it could be leaking.

also are the wires plugging onto the coil tight making good connection.

thats my thoughts

welcome to buggynews alot of info here and help.

Thanks for the info. I have finally had a chancce to check the carb. There appears to be no varnish or gum in the carb and all of the path's were open and clear. I will be looking at the intake this afternoon. Thanks for the help. Any ideas on what a good replacement carb is for this kart? I replaced the neg pressure petcock with one with a valve and no longer need to hook up the lines from the carb and intake to the neg pressure petcock. Therefore I am looking for a better carb that will increase some performance on the kart and hopefully get a manual pull choke. Any ideas on what would be a good choice?

just a thought but when my coil was going bad my buggy would idle fine but could not rev up because of the lack of power from the coil. maybe that would be something to look at. also, you said you replaced the plug. might want to make sure they sold you the right one and the gap is set right.
....my two cents..... :D

Good news! I was checking out the coil and discovered that one of the connections was connected but extremely loose. I tightened the connection and she ran awseome. Thanks for the help!!!!! :D
