Hi, my name is kevin and im some what new here, ive read some posts on issues i have had in the past on my buggy but with my new problem it seems that no one has bent what ive bent before, so i decided to make profile and see what you guys have to say about it.

When i was out riding about 3 weeks ago i must have bottomed out the rear suspension and then immediately hit another bump witch popped my back end up and slightly turned me to the right, when I came down my left rear tire hit a tree. It bent the rear axle between the tire and a bearing on the frame.

I took it to my local buggy shop here in Phoenix, AZ and its ben there for awhile, so i called him today and he told me the part is hard to find and might have to order it from china, and that would take a long time.

the buggy in the picture is not the same as i have, but it looks like the same axle set up, by the way my buggy is a 250cc kinroad

Since the axle is not useable in it's current condition, take it off and straighten it. Use a shop press or two blocks of wood and a sledge hammer. What do you have to lose? Us buggy types can be very innovative when it comes to fixing buggy damage.

thanks for ideas but right now its at a shop and the only way to move it around is with a fork lift since the wheels are locked up from the bent axle, it was so hard to lift and drag it on my trailer! but if the shop cant find the part i'll have to try to straighten it. Im also looking on craigs list to find a wrecked or blown motor one that i can pick up for cheap that i can either put my engine in or take the axle from.

and its is a 2 seater 2006 kinroad 250gk-2

take the axle out and get someone who knows how to use a press to try to get it back. You can try heat too. Take and heat the opposite side of the bend to a high heat and then let it cool slow and then do it again and again. it will pull back the bend. IF you are not sure just get a solid scrap and try it. You'll use alot of gas but you can get close and that is all you want.

You said that it doesnt roll so you might have made a little more damage than you think. take it all apart and see.

Get any movement on the parts? Any thought to trying to adapt a standard size axle to the hub/sprocket/brake. If the axle is one inch or 25mm then going that road may not be as tough as you may think...

I'm the QA Manager at a heat treating shop and I do plenty of press-straightening on axles and transmission shafts to less than .005" . I have time to do the job.

sorry i havnt replyed in awhile, ive ben looking on craigs list for a cheap broken buggy like mine that i could just take the axle from and today i found 2 joyners for $500 http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/rvs/2502463488.html . i know that they have rear independent suspension but maybe i could swap my engine in one of those. is it possible? is the cfmoto different on the outside than the cn250? it would probly be easier to send WreckReation my axle but what do you think?

I wonder how similar are these axles are to say a hammerhead or an ASW? I'll be willing to bet that with minor mods they can be adapted if not swapped all together.
