Looking for a small cordless impact gun. We broke a belt 30 miles from the truck and it sure would have been nice to have a cordless impact gun to get the variator nut off. I can put the belt on without taking the nut off, the problem was the sliders got messed up when the belt broke.

Anybody have a suggestion on buying a small, powerful cordless impact gun we can carry with us on the trail?

Thanks

I have a Ryobi 3/8" unit, and it has come in handy more than once with my bikes. Has put out plenty of torque for just about everything I have needed it for. Likely the least expensive, and if it isnt strong enough, Home Depot has one of the best return policies with thier tools, so you wont be out anything..

I have been hand tightening my variator up with a small 3/8 breaker bar for some time now , with your exact reason in mind .. the need to get it loose quickly without air. Never had one come loose. I always wondered why the need for so much torque. I made a spanner wrench with two pins to fit the holes in the variator. this holds the variator so I can remove and tighten the nut with a breaker bar.
I viewed your pics of the florida trip. How did the buggys do in the sand? Planning to go for AMA speed week but I won't take the buggys, strickly 2 wheel for this  but I would be interested in another trip later on in the spring.

Charlies set up works very well. I did get a 3/8 drive cordless impact from summit racing.
