Post subject:  Sunl Carb

I took the carb apart on my Sunl ATV 110 to clean it. Now I have fuel constantly dripping out of the bottom of the bowl out of the hose on the bottom.

Any suggestions on what I may have put back together incorrectly?

Thanks!!

from the way it sounds your carb bowl drain screw is not shutting off all the way.did you get the screw tight when you put it back together or did you over tighten and strip the threads?

on some of those 110 atv there is a small o-ring in the fuel bowl where the drain screw seats. check to see if ther is one in there. we have a ton of 110 atv come in the shop, most with carb trouble.

When I took apart the carb, I didn't mess with the carb bowl drain screw. I’m assuming that’s the one shown in one of the pictures I attached. I tried to adjust that screw and it’s not budging! I also don’t know of an o-ring for the drain screw. The bowl itself holds fuel.

The other picture shows the tube that’s in the bowl. When the gas fills up above the top of that tube, it starts leaking out of the hose on the bottom of the bowl. It would seem to me that the float isn’t working correctly. When the bowl fills up, the float should rise up and stop the flow of gas. It’s not doing that. I had the carb apart and blew air into fuel line. With the float down, air flows. When I close the float with my hand, the air stops. So it seems like it’s working. I even turned the carb upside down and the air stopped. So it seems like it’s working correctly until I put everything back together. If I close off the drain tube on the bottom of the carb, fuel keeps filling the carb up until it starts leaking out of the air filter.

Do I need a new carb or am I missing something obvious here? I need to get this fixed by 11/14. We’re going to Glamis and my daughter will be on my case big time if she can’t ride!

Thank you!!!

Well, I tore it down AGAIN last night. This time I tore the float assembly apart. Didn't see anything wrong in there, but what the heck. I also took the top end of the carb apart again.

So I put it all back together AGAIN and it doesn't leak anymore. I have no idea what I did differently this time besides having a beer in my hand. Maybe that's what i needed to do.......

Thanks everyone for your help!
