So seems to me a lot of people have other answered questions about upgrading parts or using different parts from other vehicles to fix parts and problems on Sand Viper 1600. So I'm thinking we should all share our I want experiences and what we've used to fix any and all problems. I hope that we can all help one another

Well, A Jetta transmission's internals swap over directly to the 1600 trans. The bell housing for the Jetta will not bolt up to the chery motor.

97 is what everyone says. But any VW020 trans will work. I used parts from an '81 diesel rabbit to rebuild my diff the first time. Anyone know what the cv outters, rotors, wheel bearings cross to? Also, the BC series trans from ford along with the IB5 and the MTX75 will bolt up to the stock 1600 motor.
