Post subject:  adjusting valves joyner 650

hi im having cold start problems and have been advised that this is more than likely to do with the compression.can someone please give me a step by step instruction on how to set the valves to the correct clearance.thanks for any help!oh and im new to this so make it as simple for me as possible,thanx

1. Remove the valve cover so you can see the valves.
2. Rotate the main crank pulley on the right side of the engine until it lines up with the TDC indicator.
3. You should be at the compression stroke of either piston 1 (right one) or piston 2. The intake and exhaust valves are completely closed on compression.
4. Once you determine which piston is on compression adjust that pair of valves and then rotate the engine another cycle to adjust the other piston's valves.
5. Intake valve lash should be .006 and exhaust should be .008
