I should have just taken my HH250 in to the repair shop, but I figured that I could have replaced the variator with a new Dr. Pulley Variator with relative ease.
Wrong....More aggrevation than I expected. Got it all together, installed and CVT put back together. Turned it on and heard some pinging and missing, so I tried to go back in, but now I can't get the variator fan plate off. It's stuck good.
Note: Without taking off the shock, it's tough to get an impact wrench cleanly on the Boss Nut that connects the variator fan. Maybe I torqued the shaft too much. Who knows?
Get a hold of Tom he'll get you what you need. If you have to take off the shock to get a better shot at the nut , then do it, you don't want to get half on the nut then pull the trigger, it'll just strip out the nut, then you'll be up a creek, it is what it is, as for the noise, maybe one of the sliders shifted during installation. Let us know how you make out. Tim
