Hi all,

Went to the Sand Sport Super Show with the kids this weekend and ran into a group selling "Doonz" tires specially made for UTV's. The link to the site is DWTracing.com

But these tires looked incredibly FAT and should provide excellent floatation for sand riding. Current sizes are 25.5 x 11-12" front and 25.5 x 13-12 rears. The rep says its designed so turning the paddles does not rob power even with 8 paddles. I would think so because the paddles are not cut too aggressive unlike all other paddles. The prices are about right about $92F and $112R. Mounted on Blue Label rims $207 and $278.

I hope to get a full set soon but first things first...Weber upgrade from Fast Freddies!!

Anyone experience this set or even the new ITP UTV sand tires please chime in..

On a final note, I wonder why Joyner was not representing at the show. My personal opinion is that they did not want to feel or hear the heat from ALL the other high $$$ toys that were there...im talking $100K rails or $30K UTV's

Those look good. An extremely lightweight set of fat tires is the ticket for sandbox play in a buggy or small UTV. Not much info on the website so I was wondering if those are molded tires? Some companies shave all the tread off a tire & glue on paddles. Shaved Mudlites make a nice light paddle but I'd trust a molded tire over an "assembled" one.

Joyner is not usually at the Cal shows, they have been at the last two AZ shows Ive attended. This year it is in Dec. Maybe they will be there.

I am running 26x10-12 ITP SandStars on my Joyner 650 and they work well for me. My Joyner 250 has 23x10-12 shaved 8-paddle Kendas. I did not have problems with the Kendas coming apart when I ran them on 650 and they are holding up on the 250.

There is always a HUGE Joyner display at the Sand Sports Supershow and this year was no exception. Joyner themselves don't technically do it, it's buggyworld.net and they have every single Joyner made sitting out there right next to the Pacific Amphitheatre. what was funny this year was that BMS didn't have outlet motorsports to display their products this year, so they did it themselves.....and brought nothing but scooters! To a Sand Sport Supershow! Not even any mention of their buggies. Pathetic.

You should try some of the UTV forums for tire feedback. Since the tires they run on the SxS and the larger buggies are the same, their input will be valuable for your purchase. My advice is stay with less aggressive paddles that are 25-27" in height and designed to carry the weight of UTVs.

I just got a pair of Doonz paddle tires, mounted them up on 8" wide Joyner rear wheels and bolted them on the Joyner 800. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test them in the sand for a few months - it's frozen in Utah.

My initial impression is that these tires should work very well on the 800. They are 11" wide through the sidewalls and 24" in diameter at 10psi. I got them from www.sidebysidesports.com for $89.95 each - not bad considering that I paid $220.00 each for the Sand Tires Unlimited Blasters that are on my 1100.

The tires look great with a wide footprint that should really help flotation in the sand. The guys on the UTV forums rave about them.

The tires seem to be high quality and should handle the weight of the Joyner since they were designed for UTV's that weight as much or more than my 800, but there is no weight rating listed on thre sidewall.

I'll post some pictures of the Doonz compared to three other sand tires this weekend

Jaxon,
I am debating the Sand Blasters or the Doonz for my 800 turbo 4 seater. I want the most flotation and another member runs the Sand Blasters on his 800 Turbo and loves them. I am torn between the two tires for sure. I have a set of 12x8 douglas Aluminum wheels to mount them on. So now I just need the tires and the choice is defiantly a hard one as no one really has the 4 seater and the tire choices you read so much good and bad about each tire
