It would be tougher to get that motor than the swap itself  . So what's the story behind the motor? I found dyno sheets on that motor, it starts as a beast and can be built into a monster.

Thanks everyone. Its definitely the right amount of power for the chassis and the motor has plenty of upgrade potential. Its a five speed and does have reverse. The swap itself was actually really easy. I bought the complete quad and sold the rolling chassis to make up some of the expense. There was a lot of wires to go along with the fuel injection but I was able to use most of the stock quad wiring harness. As soon as work slows down I'll organize and post pictures.

I was having a hard time uploading pics on this site so here is the link to photobucket.

http://s272.beta.photobucket.com/user/b ... ine%20swap

The buggy still isnt finished to the standards i would like but it is a lot of fun to drive. Ive probably put 300 miles on it since the swap and have only had a few minor problems. In the next month or two i plan on cutting off the roll cage and rebuilding it out of dom tubing, rewiring the buggy, finding a new fuel tank and building a new exhaust. I'll post pics as i accomplish more.

Thanks for posting some pics b-rock. I was checking out a 700xx engine on ebay and that engine is perfect for using the stock drivetrain.

Curious if you're using a hand clutch or foot?

Wow, lots of wires  Good luck and keep us posted on your progress - thanks again for the pics. :D

The engine really is perfect for using the stock drivetrain. That was the main reason I chose it. Right now I'm using a hand clutch but eventually I might switch to a hydraulic foot clutch. I made the new shifter from 7/8 tubing so I could use the quad clutch perch and had a local shop make longer clutch and throttle cables. The stock exhaust from the quad was used but it does come within an inch or two of the passenger seat. I put heat shield on the back of the seat and Kevlar wrap on the head pipe. I haven't had any problems yet. The stock air box fit behind the back frame rail so I will continue to use that until I get a fel controller to play with the air fuel ratio.

The wiring is definitely a mess and I'm trying to clean that up right now. Hopefully next time I post a picture it will be a little more organized. Its a little overwhelming how many sensors the engine has for the fuel injection but the power is worth it.

That thing sure takes up a lot less room than the 500 or 400 Polaris with the seperate engine trans set up. Bet that thing really gets it. What kind of Hp is it rated at?
